A new DuckTales Season 3 trailer depicts the triumphant return of Darkwing Duck and even features his beloved theme song. In the 90s, Darkwing Duck was a prominent figure in the Disney Afternoon lineup and even had his own show, which ran from 1991 to 1995. Initially, in the Ducktales reboot, Darkwing Duck was a fictional character within the universe. Then, in season 2, Darkwing Duck rejoined the DuckTales gang and is being voiced by Drake Mallard. Originally airing back in April, after a four-month hiatus, season 3 has returned to Disney XD as of September 21st.
Disney XD released a new DuckTales Season 3 trailer, which depicts the iconic Darkwing Duck back again fighting bad guys; this time accompanied by his iconic theme song. The trailer shares its name, “Let’s Get Dangerous,” with the upcoming hour-long special scheduled to be released on October 19th. Teasing at the episode’s plot, the trailer explains that an interdimensional rift has opened, allowing four supervillains to wreak havoc, and Darkwing Duck is there to stop them. Since the reboot launched in 2017, the new DuckTales has been well-received by new and old fans alike, evoking nostalgia while still bringing new energy to the franchise. There are rumors that this upcoming hour-long special may bring about a new Darkwing Duck spinoff series with Mallard. Although a new series is currently unknown, the upcoming hour-long special featured in the trailer will surely satisfy fans’ expectations when released on October 19th.
