The Luyendyk baby watch is finally over as former lead of The Bachelor Arie Luyendyk has announced that he and his wife Lauren have officially welcomed two twins. When Arie and Lauren discovered they were having twins, the couple was overjoyed with the additions to their family and have been eagerly awaiting the birth of their second and third children ever since. Now that the twins are born, the entire family is reportedly resting comfortably.
Although Arie and Lauren are happily married now, their relationship had a rough start. The controversial Bachelor split up with his first choice, Becca Kufrin, and afterwards Arie and Lauren were able to start their lives together. Since their season, Arie and Lauren welcomed their first child, a daughter named Alessi, in 2019. Most recently, the couple announced they’re moving to Hawaii and have been preparing for that in addition to the twins.
For weeks, Arie and Lauren have been eager for the twins’ birth and have tried things like spicy food and exercise to speed things along. But on Saturday, Arie revealed that Lauren had been admitted to the hospital and the day had finally come. As Lauren’s labor progressed, Arie said that for this birth she was “having a hard time this go around with nausea,” and ultimately the babies were delivered via c-section. It wasn’t long before the couple’s new babies, a boy and a girl, were born.
Obviously, the entire family is ready to rest and recover, but Arie posted a message to his Instagram stories to update his followers. “@luyendyktwins are here!” he exclaimed. “Momma and babies are doing great and everything went smoothly. Spending time cherishing these moments, thank you for all the support.” For months, Arie and Lauren have been beyond excited to welcome their twins and are no doubt equal parts exhausted and elated right now.
There was a time when fans of The Bachelor held a grudge against Arie and Lauren for the messy way his relationship with Becca ended. But now, fans envy Arie and Lauren’s relationship and think the pair are bona-fide couple goals. The two parents have put all their energy into creating a happy, loving family, and it appears they’ve achieved it. As Arie and Lauren rest up, all of Bachelor Nation waits for the sure-to-be-adorable baby pictures.
