Banners are an important gameplay mechanic in Genshin Impact, the free-to-play RPG from miHoYo. These offer boosted rates for playable characters and rare weapons, so it's a great way to get new heroes and weapons in the game's Wish system. However, making Wishes cost Primogems or Fates, so it's important to know when new Banners are arriving and when old ones are coming to an end.
At its core, Genshin Impact is still a gacha game, which means it relies on Wishes and players spending real money for in-game currency. Banners are great, because they offer boosted pull rates in Genshin Impact's Wish system, which can make it much easier to grab a 5-star character. This is why many players choose to save up Primogems in advance of a new character like Eula or Kazuha arriving in-game, because their Banners offer an opportune time to try to acquire them.
Of course, there's also a pity system at work in Genshin Impact, which gives guaranteed 5-star characters or weapons if enough unsuccessful pulls have occurred. While this doesn't guarantee the player will get the character featured on the Banner, it does help out with the overall odds when coupled with the boosted pull rate. So, just how long do Banners in Genshin Impact last?

Typically, Banners in Genshin Impact last about three weeks. This means two different sets of Banners appear in most updates. For example, Version 1.6's Banners include a Klee rerun and then the long-awaited Kazuha character Banner to finish out the newest content. Because updates last about six weeks until a new Version arrives, this makes a lot of sense and perhaps explains why miHoYo implements this sort of schedule.
Admittedly, sometimes this formula changes, but this is a rare occasion. This may happen when a surprise new character like Hu Tao is suddenly added in, or when there's a lull in other content within a Version of the game. Mostly, though, players should expect a Banner to last about three weeks before it's gone.
Thankfully, miHoYo has started introducing Banner reruns fairly often, offering players another chance to get rare characters onto their teams. Zhongli and Tartaglia have been the recent featured rerun characters, although Version 1.6 of Genshin Impact currently has a Klee Banner rerun going on. So, for anyone who misses out on these valuable characters when they debut, it's a great way to try to grab them through the Wish system at a boosted rate.
