Netflix's new reality show, Bling Empire, has just lost two of its most popular characters. Both Cherie Chan and Jessey Lee have announced they will be leaving the show behind for greener pastures. The show aired during the pandemic and it was a quick hit for the network; this loss could spell disaster.
Bling Empire followed around a group of tight-knit Asian and Asian-American friends who live and work in Los Angeles. The entire cast was dynamic and ranged in age. Netflix fans watched as some relatable and nonrelatable characters worked their issues on the show. Cherie and Jessey were quickly fan favorites, and viewers loved seeing Cherie pop the big question during their party after waiting for a ring. Cherie also gave birth to their second child while on the show, shortly after losing her mother. All fans rooted for the couple to succeed, and now it looks like they are ready to move on.
TMZ reported that the couple was making a choice to leave the series. Cherie and Jessey told the outlet that they really would like to focus on their growing family and the family business, which keeps them living the high life. The couple made sure to thank fans and share that they were thankful for their time on the show. Bling Empire fans had already suspected that they might not return for a second season since they never really needed the money, as Cherie is an heiress in waiting.
Viewers really enjoyed the couple's down-to-earth attitude, as it resonated with many. It's safe to say that fans won't be able to watch Jessey or Cherie's wedding, and many thought it would be a huge storyline for the second season. But the mother of two recently shared what she had put on her wedding registry, saying she had been cooking so much during the lockdown. The denim heir revealed she asked for an air fryer and a salad spinner to keep her growing family happy and healthy.
Netflix announced back in March that fans would be given a Season 2. Even though a release date has yet to be announced, there will definitely be some new faces to the group. The network shared that the guilty pleasure would have all the great drama from season 1 and even high energy for round two. But don't worry, some of your favorite Bling Empire characters will be back and looking to entertain!
