How Love In Paradise: The Caribbean Differs From Other 90 Day Series

The world of 90 Day Fiancé continues to grow, as there is yet another Discovery+ spin-off on the horizon: Love in Paradise: The Caribbean, A 90 Day StoryDiscovery+ has been making 90 Day spin-offs a major part of its exclusive content. It already has several successful spin-offs, such as 90 Day: The Single Life and 90 Day Bares All. These 90 Day Fiancé spin-off shows have provided plenty of shocking reveals and some meme-able moments.

Love In Paradise: The Caribbean will be the first Discovery+ 90 Day original that introduces fans to an entirely new cast. Most of the other 90 Day spin-offs have involved former cast members returning, either in tell-all fashions or to expand their 90 Day stories. The new cast is just one way this new 90 Day series is unique. Here are some of the other ways it differs from past 90 Day Fiancé shows.

Of course, 90 Day Fiancé has had couples who met on various islands and in tropical locations, but it’s never had an entire series, or even season, based around the idea of couples in the Caribbean. Some of the locations on Love In Paradise will include Panama, Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Barbados. The trailer for the series makes sure to emphasize the beauty of these locations with images of the 90-dayers having fun in the sun. Hopefully, the islands, the culture, and the islanders are showcased as much as the 90 Day couples.

90 Day Fiancé season one only had four couples. But eventually, the show expanded to include more and more relationships. The most recent season of 90 Day Fiancé focused on seven couples, and a few of them appeared on other 90 Day shows.

Only showcasing four couples on Love In Paradise feels like back-to-basics for the franchise. This is a good move because it’ll really allow viewers to get to know these four couples. The four couples on Love in Paradise: The Caribbean are Mark and Key, Aryanna and Sherlon, Steven and Martine, and Amber and Daniel.

Unlike 90 Day Fiancé, a wedding at the end of the season isn’t the goal of Love in Paradise. It’s closer to 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way in that regard because it’s more about four couples exploring the next step in their relationship. Amber and Daniel are a couple who are planning to get married and start the K-1 visa process, but Daniel’s financial situation may stop any marriage talk.

Martine and Steven are dealing with fidelity issues and whether they should continue to date. Mark wants Key to come to the USA with him, but she isn’t sure she loves him. Then we have Aryanna and Sherlon, who are about to have a child together. She wants him to move to the US, but he isn’t sure about it. Clearly, these couples have similar issues to past 90 Day pairs, but hopefully, we get a new spin on these stories and problems.

A theme of many of these 90 Day Discovery+ shows has been to push the envelope on how risky the content can get, especially in terms of sex topicsWe expect Love in Paradise to be a little sexier than a normal season of 90 Day Fiancé because it’s the Discovery+ norm.
