Many new adventures have been released for the 5th Edition of Dungeons & Dragons so far this year. Candlekeep Mysteries introduced new campaigns and Van Richten's Guide To Ravenloft expanded the content originally available for The Curse of Strahd and the demi-plane of Barovia. However, Wizards of the Coast has announced several more sourcebooks planned for release this fall and each will include new ways to enjoy a D&D campaign.
Dungeons & Dragons has been gaining increasing popularity over the past several years. While always a well-known fantasy tabletop game, Dungeons & Dragons' player-base has increased dramatically thanks to tabletop podcasts like Critical Role and The Adventure Zone. These podcasts have helped those who may not have otherwise been exposed to D&D have a chance to see adventures in action, encouraging new players to join campaigns or build adventures of their own as DMs. Because of this, Wizards of the Coast has continued to release new and revamped content specifically for 5e gameplay, offering both new and returning players plenty of options for adventures.
The first upcoming D&D sourcebook fans can expect this fall is The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, releasing on September 21, 2021. The campaign follows the Witchlight Carnival, a fantastical roadshow that only comes once every eight years, which acts as a doorway into the Feywild. Players will unravel the mystery behind the Carnival runners, Mister Witch and Mister Light, and explore the Feywild in a full-length campaign. The sourcebook will also add new D&D backgrounds, like the Feylost and Witchlight Hands.

Dungeons & Dragons will also see an expansion to dragons and dragon-related content with the upcoming release of Fizban's Treasury of Dragons on October 19, 2021. Much like Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything and Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft, this sourcebook will expand D&D lore, specifically focusing on dragons in 5e. The sourcebook will go into greater detail on dragons and their abilities, as well as introducing new species, including the Gem Dragon.
For those who have wanted to attend magic school in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting, Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos, releases on November 16, 2021, and could be the perfect official sourcebook. Strixhaven University, a location from Magic: The Gathering, will allow players to create students and study in one of five different colleges. Fans of stories like Harry Potter will be able to craft their own fantasy school adventure with access to new backgrounds, feats, and a new race: the Owlin. With so many exciting Dungeons & Dragons campaign opportunities just around the corner, players may want to start getting groups together to take advantage of everything the new sourcebooks have to offer when they release.
