The actor who played Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2 has denied rumors that he's set to appear in the next Call of Duty. Roger Clark provided both the performance capture and voice for Morgan in the 2018 Rockstar Games classic, but the actor has said he's not involved in Call of Duty, despite fan theories.
Red Dead Redemption 2's Arthur Morgan is one of the most respected video game characters of the last generation of gaming. Morgan's adventures through Rhodes, Saint Denis, and more, take the character and the player through an emotional narrative rollercoaster that has cemented Morgan as one of Rockstar's more memorable leads. Clark's incredible performance, along with impressive sales of the game, have made the actor one of the biggest names in game acting, with many fans eagerly awaiting news of his next video game project. Red Dead Redemption 2's ending makes Morgan's return to the series unlikely, though it's possible the character could make a comeback in some capacity, possibly in an expansion or prequel.
RDR2 fans won't be seeing Clark appear in a Call of Duty game anytime soon, with the actor responding to rumors that he'd be in the next game in the series. Clark recently shared an Instagram post of a silhouetted soldier, noting in the caption that he was "lucky enough to get in front of the camera again." Fans quickly began to speculate that the image meant Clark would be appearing in Call of Duty, with rumors garnering enough attention for Clark to respond. On Twitter, Clark said:
"No guys, this was for an upcoming feature. A WWI horror. I’ll share more soon. In the post I said how nice it was to get in front of the camera again. Gaming studios don’t usually go for filming on set, in costume. honored you’re interested in me do something like that tho Cheers."
Fans looking to see Clark in CoD might be out of luck, but the WW1 horror project sounds like something RDR2 players won't want to miss. Anyone interested in learning more can keep an eye on Clark's social channels for further details.
While it won't be starring Roger Clark, the next addition to the Call of Duty series is right around the corner. Call of Duty's next game is believed to be called "Vanguard," as revealed by leaked images and details. Its official reveal could be imminent, as Call of Duty games typically launch around November each year, and tend to be revealed during the summer months. Unlike Clarke's next project, the game will reportedly take place during World War 2, though Activision hasn't confirmed the rumors. Players can likely expect the game to launch on last-gen and new-gen consoles, as well as PC.
Good news could still be good news on the horizon for Red Dead Redemption fans. A recent report claims that Rockstar is considering a Red Dead Redemption remaster, depending on the success of the rumored GTA trilogy remasters. The report is unconfirmed, but 2010's Red Dead Redemption is a perfect candidate for a remaster. Fans have been calling out for a new take on the original RDR for a while now, but will have to wait a little longer to see if it's really going to happen.
