Reality star turned wrestler Mike "The Miz" Mizanin will be a part of the cast for Dancing with the Stars season 30. While some longtime fans of the dancing competition show know who Mike is, others may not be familiar with his career and personal life so far.
This season, Mike will be competing alongside a DWTS cast of big names. Some of his competition includes recent Bachelor Matt James, social media influencer Olivia Jade, Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby, and Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa. Mike will also be part of a history-making season, as JoJo will be the first-ever DWTS contestant to have a partner of the same sex. The official pairings of pro dancers and their celebrity partners will not be announced until the premiere next week.
Mike is about to add ballroom dancing to his lengthy resumé. The star rose to fame while he was still in college, dropping out after auditioning for MTV's The Real World. Mike not only appeared on season 10 of the show but also became a fan favorite. During his time on The Real World, Mike introduced fans to his wrestling alter ego "The Miz." Because of his success and popularity on the show, Mike became a familiar face on MTV for many years. He took part in different reality series such as Road Rules and WWE's Tough Enough. This is when Mike started to become well-known in the world of wrestling. The skills and talents he portrayed on the show impressed executives, eventually leading to a contract.
Mike is now considered to be one of the biggest stars in the WWE, even winning multiple titles. In the midst of his success, Mike married fellow WWE star Maryse Ouellet in 2014. The couple now has two kids together. Earlier this week, their oldest daughter, Monroe Sky Mizanin, helped him rehearse for Dancing with the Stars which they showed off on Mike's Instagram. The father-daughter-duo dedicated their dance to judge Derek Hough as he recently won an Emmy award. In addition to being a husband, a father, and a wrestler, Mike has also taken up acting, appearing in a 2016 episode of Supernatural. Earlier this year, Mike made it known he wants to be cast as Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2.
Mike is definitely a man of many talents. He took a risk as a young college student to go on a reality show, most likely just for fun, and it ultimately changed his entire life. He's had an immense amount of success in nearly every opportunity. Mike will without a doubt give it his all this season on Dancing with the Stars.
Dancing with the Stars premieres Monday, September 20 at 8 pm EST on ABC.
