RHOBH: Crystal Minkoff Avoided ‘Unsafe’ Drama Between Sutton & Erika

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Crystal Kung Minkoff revealed she felt the drama between Sutton Stacke and Erika Jayne was too "unsafe" to get involved in. Though new to RHOBH, Crystal had already witnessed from her fellow housewives how sticking one's nose in other people's business will always go wrong. So when it came to Sutton and Erika's explosive drama, Crystal made good use of her cast mates' past mistakes and chose to stay out of it.

Season 11 of the Bravo franchise has seen a lot of drama. From Crystal butting heads with Sutton Stracke, to Lisa Rinna's and Garcelle Beauvais' fighting, to Kyle Richards' constant critique of the notoriously long-winded Dorit Kemsley; every episode seemed to promise a new battle. And like a dark cloud looming over it all, Erika Jayne's legal troubles left all of the ladies with more questions than answers. So when Sutton Stracke confronted Erika with all of the questions the women had, the explosion that unfolded rocked everyone. Taking the brunt of Erika's venomous threats, Sutton found herself in troubling waters while the rest of the women found themselves walking on eggshells.

It is no surprise, then, that Crystal Kung Minkoff decided that involving herself in their drama would be too risky. Speaking exclusively with Us WeeklyCrystal dished about the magnitude of the situation. "It wasn't silly fighting. This was really intense [with] the legalities of things," she said. Like Sutton Stracke, who almost left RHOBH following Erika's threats, Crystal admitted "I might've left myself, had that happened to me." Notably, like at Kathy Hilton's dinner party, the heated exchange between the two women turned intense, so much so that Crystal felt safer keeping mum: "to insert myself into such a heavy topic felt unsafe for me as well."

Even though she stayed out of their drama, Crystal admitted she does understand where both women were coming from. "I understood both sides," she said of the confrontation. While also having questions about some of the latest bombshells that Erika would drop on the women, Crystal Kung Minkoff recognized why Erika took Sutton's accusation of lying so seriously. "That was the moment that I felt like I get why Erika felt that way," adding, "because for me, if someone called me a liar, that is super damaging to my integrity [and] my family's integrity," she explained. For her, a label like that could be dangerous, especially if the accusation was false, so she understood why Erika and Sutton's confrontation was tense: "I'm not a liar. So that would be really challenging for me."

Given the housewives' proclivity for turning from witnesses into participants, it is doubtful that Crystal Kung Minkoff has fully avoided the drama. As new revelations of Erika Jayne's legal trouble come to light, there surely will be more drama for the singer and more unanswered questions for the women. Sutton Stracke found out the hard way what interrogating Erika could lead to, but that doesn't mean the housewives are done just yet. And as season 11 comes to a close, fans can only anticipate more intense confrontations on the horizon. Viewers will just have to wait and see just how explosive The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion will be.
