The Captain A. Grande costume is an alternate style for the Spacefarer Ariana Grande skin in Fortnite. It's common for Fortnite skins to have their own alternative versions that are more difficult to unlock. Skins don't do much outside of changing the appearance of the player, but the more lavish or technical-looking the skin, it is fair to assume that the player has put a ton of time into the game. Skins function as a social ladder within Fortnite, and those with the best skins are typically deemed the strongest players. Players were able to get an original Ariana Grande Fortnite skin during her concert series, but this time she is back with a new Spacefarer look and her own questline as an NPC.
Before players can access the Captain A. Grande style, they will need to unlock the base Spacefarer Ariana Grande first. This is a skin that is only available within the Item Shop. There is currently no other way to obtain the skin. She has been available in the Item Shop since October 21. Players can either buy the skin with the bundle, or by buying it individually. This is the breakdown of every Ariana Grande item in the shop.
- Spacefarer Ariana Grande Bundle: 2,500 V-Bucks.
- Spacefarer Ariana Grande Skin: 2,000 V-Bucks.
- Spacefarer Lightscythe: 800 V-Bucks.
- I.R.I.S. Daydream Glider: 1,200 V-Bucks.
- Spooky Smallz Back Bling: 400 V-Bucks.
Now that the player has unlocked the base Spacefarer Ariana Grande, they can focus on unlocking the Captain A. Grande version. In order to do this, players must find Ariana Grande's location in Fortnite season 8. Players will need to find her on the map and clear all five of her challenges.
- Collect a Record and place it in a turntable.
- Study the Caretaker’s Footprints.
- Collect Symbols from eliminated Cube Monsters.
- Reveal the Command Symbol.
- Launch Signal Flares.
Ariana Grande alone as a Fortnite NPC can give players up to 150,000 XP for finishing all of her challenges. Completing each challenge will reward players with 30,000 XP towards their Battle Pass, making it one of the fastest ways to level up in Fortnite season 8. It will also unlock the Captain A. Grande variant. Players can also complete their questline before picking up the Spacefarer skin from the Item Shop. Although, players will need the base skin in order to unlock the Captain A. Grande version. Her design changes to a black and orange look with a tan helmet. The base skin will likely be removed from the shop in the future. It's common for Fortnite to cycle through which items are active. Make sure to grab the Ariana Grande skin before it expires.
