Origin Form Giratina makes an appearance in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl for players to find and capture. The original Giratina was the legendary Pokémon on the box cover of Pokémon Platinum, the third version game that takes place in the Sinnoh region. While the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes focus mainly on Diamond and Pearl content, there are a handful of nods to content exclusive to Pokémon Platinum. For example, players can unlock bonus Platinum outfits for their custom character. Not only that, but Origin Form Giratina was a Pokémon that made its debut in Pokémon Platinum. Fortunately, players can get their own in Pokémon BDSP.
For starters, players will need to unlock the National Dex. Once unlocked, new areas around the region begin to open up, including the Spring Path. Players can find this area along the main area of Route 214, and it will lead players to Sendoff Spring. This is where players can find the regular form of Giratina. Players will need to capture it to get the Origin Form Giratina.
After players have captured Giratina, they will need to go to Ramanas Park, located on Route 221. It should be unlocked at this point if players have captured Giratina. In Ramanas Park, there are caves where players can place a slate to summon a legendary Pokémon. This is how players can capture legendary Pokémon like Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. To summon Origin Form Giratina, players must have caught Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. This will, in turn, unlock the Distortion Slate.
The Distortion Slate will now be available for purchase at the shop in Ramanas Park. This item will cost the player 3 Small Mysterious Shards or 1 Big Mysterious Shard. These items can be found in the Grand Underground by mining within the walls during the postgame. After purchasing the Distortion Slate, place it in the room with Giratina in Ramans Park, and the battle with Origin Form Giratina will begin.
This battle is quite interesting because players cannot capture Origin Forme Giratina, unlike the other legendary Pokémon in Ramanas Park. Instead, after defeating it, players will be given the Griseous Orb. When held by a Giratina, this item will transform it into its Origin Form. Since players captured one earlier in the game, they now have access to Origin Form Giratina. In addition, it will be level 100, making it the strongest Pokémon in the game.
