TBBT's Johnny Galecki Celebrates Kaley Cuoco’s Birthday With Cute Photo

Johnny Galecki celebrates his The Big Bang Theory co-star Kaley Cuoco's birthday. The pair, who played on-screen couple Leonard and Penny, were among the original cast members of the hit CBS sitcom alongside Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar. After a turmultous on-and-off-again start to their relationship in early The Big Bang Theory seasons, Leonard and Penny got engaged in season 7 and were married in season 9.

Just a few months before The Big Bang Theory season 12 premiered, CBS revealed that it was already having discussions about greenlighting another season or two of the sitcom. This made sense considering its continued popularity despite being on the air for more than a decade. But, it later announced that The Big Bang Theory would actually wrap up after Parsons decided it was time to move on. At that point, everyone else in the cast was willing to continue playing their respective characters, including Galecki and Cuoco. However, the cast decided as a group that it was best to end The Big Bang Theory altogether rather than push forward with an incomplete cast.

Now, more than three years since the end of The Big Bang Theory, Galecki proves that he and Cuoco have remained close. The star sent his former on-screen wife a greeting on her birthday (November 30). The actor posted a throwback selfie of the pair and wrote, "Happy belated 48th birthday to my / worldwide adored, Mooks." Cuoco had actually just turned 36, and Galecki was just joking around with her age. Penny and Leonard were the original main couple of The Big Bang Theory. As early as the pilot, Leonard was already clear with his affections to his newly-moved-in neighbor. However, it took a while for them to actually have a proper relationship. They tried dating but ended up splitting due to their differences, which led to them seeing other people. In the end, however, the end of The Big Bang Theory saw Penny and Leonard married and expecting their first child. To add to the interest surrounding Galecki's posts, he and Cuoco actually dated in real life during the earlier seasons of The Big Bang Theory. The pair eventually broke up, but have remained friends, as evidenced by Galecki's sweet birthday message.

Several cast members of The Big Bang Theory have expressed their interest in doing a reunion special. But as exciting as this sounds, most of the cast are aware that it might be too early for that, since it hasn't been long since the show wrapped up. However, considering the obvious great relationship between Galecki and Cuoco, it's safe to assume that if one of them agrees to participate in a The Big Bang Theory reunion, the other wouldn't be that difficult to bring on board, too.
