Jon Gosselin from Jon & Kate Plus 8 has "hope" of reuniting with his six estranged children one day. The entire family has been plagued with drama after the toxic divorce, but Jon still sees a silver lining. Fans of the show hope one day the family can put aside their differences and move on.
Jon and Kate Gosselin were once happily married and starred on the show Jon & Kate Plus 8 with their eight children. The TLC show ran from 2007 to 2017, and fans loved watching the sextuplets grow up. The couple seemed to be overrun with responsibility and exhaustion, which in the end, took a major toll on their marriage. Jon and Kate are parents to twins Cara and Madelyn and sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Joel, Leah, Hannah, and Collin. For a while, fans knew the couple was struggling, and they announced their divorce in 2009, which also showed Jon accusing his wife of abuse.
For a while, it looked as if Jon was living a carefree life, but he eventually tried to get back in touch with his children. Jon spoke with Hollywood Life about having hope for reconciliation on Father’s Day, telling the outlet, “I hope one day maybe they just knock on my door or maybe drop me a line or text me. Something like that.”
The father of eight told readers that he will always hold out hope and never give up on his children. The former DJ said he would always love his children, no matter what. Currently, he is making sure to focus on himself and the two children he has with him, saying he was “doing the best that I can and being centered and being in a good relationship and focusing on myself as well.”
Sadly, not all his children were responsive to the idea of hope. The twins Maddy and Cara have been estranged from their father the longest and have openly spoken out about not wanting him in their lives. Hannah and Collin currently live with Jon, while the rest of the sextuplets and the twins live with Kate. Jon and Kate Plus 8 fans were appalled in 2016 when Kate put Collin in a home for special needs children. The 16-year-old was there for two years before he moved in with his father. Hannah followed shortly behind, citing her mother’s strict rules for the move. Hannah still stays in contact with her other siblings, but Collin has cut all ties.
