What Lies Beneath The Mask is the newest Special Research to join Pokemon Go. It features its own set of challenges and rewards to give the player. Special Research tasks act as Pokemon Go's version of a story mode, with Professor Willow providing exposition to the different events and the Pokemon that populate them. Unlike Timed Research tasks, these remain in the game until the player completes them. It does not have an expiration date. What Lies Beneath The Mask is focused on Ghost-type Pokemon.
Specifically, this Special Research is directly tied to the Yamask line. This Pokemon made its debut back in Pokemon Black and White as a spirit who passed to the afterlife and possessed a mask. It even has its own Galarian version, Runerigus that was introduced back in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Players can find and catch Runerigus inPokemon Go but In order to evolve Galarian Yamask into Runerigus, players will need to have 50 Yamask candy and compete in 10 raid battles with it set as the player's buddy. Yamask is even the Research Breakthrough reward for collecting seven days of stamps.
What Lies Beneath The Mask is broken up into four different stages. While players can complete this Special Research at any time, players should try and finish it before the end of October. This is because currently, the spawn rate of Ghost-type Pokemon, a species of Pokemon that players will need to catch plenty of, is drastically increased. It will likely be lowered once the Pokemon GoHalloween event comes to an end.
This event has a heavy emphasis on the number 49. This is a reference to how to evolve Galarian Yamask inPokemon Sword and Shield. Players needed to get their Galarian Yamask to 49 HP and then head over to the Dusty Bowl section of the Wild Area. After running under a specific stone arch, Galarian Yamask will evolve into Runerigus. Pokemon Go will introduce more Special Research tasks in the future.
Fans of 90Day Fiancé have called for the franchise to start featuring new and authentic couples, and 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Daysseason 5 appears to be answering fans' needs. The new season of 90 Day Fiancé franchise content will follow seven new couples as they explore their international relationships before they obtain K-1 fiancé visas to live together in the United States. Along with the excitement of new couples in general, fresh duo Caleb and Alina also have one of the most unique stories in the franchise to share with audiences.
With the current season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Waybeing panned by viewers for airing recycled drama, many fans are looking forward to Before The 90 Days. The only reoccurring cast member on the spin-off show, which is one of the best-received spin-offs in the franchise, is Usman "Sojaboy" Umar. The notorious ex-husband of Lisa "Baby Girl Lisa" Hamme will be back with another older American woman. However, the other six couples will contain all-new cast members with fresh and interesting stories from around the world. Newcomers Caleb and Alina share one of the most authentic and unique stories.
Recently, EWprofiled the seven new Before The 90 Days couples, who can also be seen in a season trailer shared to the official @90dayfiancé YouTube channel. EW shares that Caleb is a 28-year-old from Chandler, Arizona, while Alina is a 27-year-old from Saint Petersburg, Russia. The young couple first connected on social media and became close friends as teens before losing touch for 13 years. A chance matching on a dating app brought Caleb and Alina back together as Caleb was planning a visit to Russia. Though Caleb didn’t end up going to Russia, his connection with Alina was reignited and the two developed romantic feelings. The couple is finally ready to meet in person and discover if their romantic connection is the real deal, but there is a major issue they must face. EW describes Alina as a “little person,” a condition that makes it difficult for her to walk or stand for long periods.
Since Caleb is a free spirit, the Before The 90 Days couple might be affected by Alina’s condition interfering too much with his lifestyle. Caleb is shown to be quite active in the trailer, and he enjoys running. “Alina and I have a deep connection, but I’m worried what other people would say is a massive difference between us,” Caleb says in the clip. Meanwhile, Alina is shown being terrified of her first encounter with Steven. “I’m scared he’s going to see me in the wheelchair, he’s going to go, ew,” she told the cameras. Another obstacle the couple will have to face is Caleb earning the trust and approval of Alina’s best friend and roommate Elijah, who is described as being very protective of her.
Like American and Russian The Other Way couple Steven and Alina, Caleb and his Alina will meet up in Turkey. The difficulty of traveling between Russia and America due to the pandemic has already been explored on The Other Way. Caleb and Alina, however, are shaping up to be a far more authentic couple, as they have a deep emotional connection. However, the duo will have to discover if Alina’s condition is something that is compatible with Caleb’s lifestyle. Viewers can explore Caleb and Alina’s love story when 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Daysairs in December.
Despite many compelling narratives, You season 3 also stupidly created its own worst plothole, which even the titular Joe Goldberg cannot fix. You season 3 centers around Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) and Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti), attempting to rebuild their lives and trust inside the idyllic Californian suburb of Madre Linda. Although You season 3's ending has garnered widespread critical acclaim upon release, Joe's relentless cycle of obsession fixation on a new "You" throws up a fresh series of plot holes for the series to contend with.
The initial object of Joe's desires, Natalie Engler (Michaela McManus), is surprisingly killed off early by the You season 3 script to introduce bookish beauty Marienne Bellamy (Tati Gabrielle). After discovering Joe's box of Natalie's effects, Love lures Natalie to the site of her new bakery before remorselessly cutting her down with a fire ax. This murder spawns a fruitless search for Natalie, spurred on by her heartbroken husband Matthew (Underworld's Scott Speedman), who eventually abuses his position as CEO of a tech company to pull surveillance footage on the whole town.
Yet, by introducing tech-savvy Matt Engler into the mix, You season 3 creates its own worst plothole. Matthew's vast array of camera footage means there is an incredibly slim chance he is unable to catch one of the numerous crimes and murders on tape that Love and Joe commit. Furthermore, by introducing an obsessive security genius who has almost unlimited resources to surveil Love and Joe, You season 3 is begging a huge suspension of disbelief as to how Matthew does not find more information on his wife's demise.
Matthew Engler is introduced via one of Joe's monologues as an affluent tech CEO and decidedly distant father and husband. Only one of these statements remains true for the character in You season 3, however, as Matthew is proven to be a devoted husband hell-bent on catching Natalie's killer. Matt is shown to purchase a large number of servers, which he uses to store the entirety of Madre Linda's surveillance footage, as well as video from private networks and devices across the suburb. While highly illegal, Matthew doggedly spools over this vast amount of video via the help of his colleague to uncover evidence that directly points to Natalie's fate.
However, introducing a driven, obsessive, and technologically bright character throws a wrench into the narrative choices of You season 3. With Joe and Love committing so many crimes in the open, from moving dead bodies to Joe upping the ante from You season 2 and actually stabbing a man to death in public. As a result, it seems highly unlikely Matthew's network of video would not have picked up at least one of these heinous acts. Additionally, Love disposes of her front door camera on advice from Matthew's son Theo (Dylan Arnold), who states that his father has access to the town's private devices as well as the aforementioned camera footage.
This leaves You season 3's storyline in a state of crisis, given Matthew could have accessed Joe and Love's baby monitor at any time and seen Cary (Travis Van Winkle) and Sherry Conrad (Shalita Grant) imprisoned in the cage below the bakery. Matthew's alluded technical knowledge would also have allowed him to know that Tesla camera footage can be accessed from several cloud-based applications, making his decision not to check on the Tesla itself dumbfounding. Despite providing an otherwise intriguingly sharp social commentary on relationships in the modern age, Matthew's bizarre inclusion as a tech CEO (when he could have been anything else) means You season 3 requires audiences to willingly accept the narrative's blindspots in favor of Joe somehow slipping the proverbial noose again.
The Legend of Zelda has had plenty of spooky elements throughout the franchise, from Dead Hands to ReDeads and everything in between. With Nintendo hinting that Breath of the Wild 2 will be comparable to Majora’s Mask in terms of scariness, the series is sure to include plenty of horrors in the future, especially considering the sinister vibe of the trailers released for Breath of the Wild 2 so far.
Breath of the Wild itself has its own fair share of scares. Between the sinister Malice covering Hyrule and the Blood Moon bringing dead monsters back to life, Breath of the Wild had plenty of creepy content, which gives Nintendo a great opportunity to ramp up the scare-factor in the game’s upcoming sequel.
However, with Breath of the Wild’s focus on cosmetics, Link is able to dress in various armor sets and join in the creepy antics himself. Among the many pieces of armor that Link can wear in Breath of the Wild, some are truly creepy-looking items, many of which are inspired by some of the franchise’s most ghastly villains. These are the spookiest items that Link can wear in the game, and how to find them.
Dark Link Set in Breath of the Wild
Of all the enemies to appear across The Legend of Zelda franchise, one of the most infamous is Dark Link. The Dark Link Set makes Link look like his shadowy counterpart, increasing his night speed and scaring friendly NPCs he approaches. It includes the Dark Hood, Dark Tunic, and Dark Trousers, all of which can be purchased from Kilton’s shop, Fang & Bone, for a grand total of 3,997 Mon. Fang & Bone is only open at night, and its monster-loving shopkeep has plenty of spooky wares for sale if Link can catch him before morning.
Radiant Set
For a bit of classic Halloween fun, Link can dress up as a glow-in-the-dark skeleton with The Radiant Set. This bone-chilling armor allows Link to disguise himself from the Stal enemies that roam Hyrule at night. Link can buy the Radiant Mask, Radiant Shirt, and Radiant Tights for a total of 1,600 Rupees from the Gerudo Secret Club. The password to get into this secret shop can be heard by eavesdropping in the Noble Pursuit, the bar across town.
Majora’s Mask
Majora’s Mask is arguably one of the scariest games in the Zelda franchise, and this creepy artifact can be found in Breath of the Wild as part of The Master Trials DLC. With its dark past and haunting appearance, this mask allows Link to blend in with monsters of all kinds. The mask can be found at Lake Kolomo Garrison Ruins by using the Magnesis rune as part of the quest, "EX Treasure: Ancient Mask". Fortunately for Link, it seems the dark spirit of the mask doesn’t intend to possess him, for now.
Phantom Set
The Master Trials DLC also adds the Phantom Set to the game, which is based on the design of Phantom Ganon from Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. With its glowing red eyes and menacing appearance, this armor lets Link dress up as another of the franchise’s ghastly villains. Each piece of the set has a base power of 8 and gives Link an attack boost, though there is no set bonus for this set, and it cannot be upgraded.
The Phantom Set can be found as part of the quest, "EX Treasure: Phantasma." The Phantom Helmet, Phantom Armor, and Phantom Greaves are found in three different locations in Hyrule Field, which include the Colosseum ruins, the Sacred Ground Ruins, and the Hyrule Garrison Ruins. Using the Magnesis rune and the Sheikah Sensor will reveal these hidden chests.
Phantom Ganon Set
As part of The Ballad of Champions DLC in Breath of the Wild, Link can acquire the Phantom Ganon Set and don the appearance of the original Phantom Ganon from Ocarina of Time. This set is one of the most sinister-looking sets of armor in the game with its skeletal face and long horns, and it grants Link a boost to stealth and disguises him from monsters. It also boosts Link’s attack power when fighting with bone weapons.
The Phantom Ganon Skull, Phantom Ganon Armor, and Phantom Ganon Greaves can be found as part of the quest "EX Treasure: Dark Armor." The three chests are hidden in Faron Woods in reference to the original boss battle in Ocarina’s Forest Temple. They’re located under Sarjon Bridge, under the waterfall at Corta Lake, and next to the broken statue in Ebara Forest. As with the Phantom Set, these treasures are easily found with the Magnesis rune and Sheikah Sensor.
James Wan revealed that The Trench, a DC movie originally announced in 2019 following the success of Aquaman, was really going to be a Black Manta story.
The Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy has been a cloud hanging over Jamie Dornan for the last six years, but the Belfast actor doesn't feel like it did him any harm in the long run.
Ron's Gone Wrong disappointed at the box office this weekend, but its writing team are already working on their next project - a superhero movie modeled on Guardians of the Galaxy.
Tammy Slaton's weight loss journey on 1000-Lb Sistershas been frustrating for the reality star, as well as the fans who root for her to make more progress, but a seemingly simple fix like a personal chef isn't as useful as viewers might think. Tammy has tried to lose enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery but hasn't been very successful sticking to her diet regimen. Although hiring a personal chef might sound like an obvious resolution, here's why Tammy needs more than just someone that can make food for her.
Both Amy and Tammy strived to lose weight throughout their time on 1000-Lb Sisters, but the pair of Slaton sisters haven't found equal success. As the duo attempted to lose enough weight to undergo bariatric surgery, Amy and Tammy experienced varied results. Amy was successful in consistently burning pounds and was able to have the operation. After getting bariatric surgery, Amy got pregnant and lead a healthier lifestyle. Unfortunately, Tammy hasn't enjoyed the same achievements as her sister. Although Tammy would demonstrate that she lost weight during her check-ins with bariatric surgeon Dr. Procter on season 1, she usually didn't lose as much weight as she should've. In season 2, Tammy's doctors discovered the reality star actually gained weight.
As 1000-Lb Sisters season 3 approaches, Tammy's support system and the series' fans are concerned that the Slaton sister will continue to move backward in her weight loss journey. In a preview for 1000-Lb Sisters season 3, Amy expressed that she felt like watching Tammy gain weight was like watching the Titanic sink. One suggestion Redditfans have for Tammy is hiring a personal chef. The main reason why Tammy is unable to make progress in her weight loss venture is that her food addiction gets in the way of the reality star's diet. Fans hope hiring a personal chef will improve Tammy's chances of sticking to her diet and finally losing the weight she has attempted to let go of since season one. One Reddit user, Designer_Breadfruit9, wrote, "Why didn’t the family get a personal chef to make healthy food?... Diet just makes more sense as a starting point."
Previously, Tammy and Amy shared they struggle to stop eating junk food, so employing a personal chef sounds like it would help Tammy eat healthier food consistently. Unfortunately, there are a few reasons why hiring a personal chef wouldn't resolve Tammy's weight loss problems. First off, a personal chef is expensive, and Tammy and Amy have been open about their financial insecurity. Another 1000-Lb Sisters fan commented that a personal chef wouldn't fix the root of the issue, which is Tammy's excessive eating. The Reddit user explained, "[It] won’t help her when Tammy just wants to binge eat." Another fan noted it would be a ton of work for a personal chef to accommodate Tammy's diet, writing, "She eats over 10K calories a day. And she gets HELLA crabby if she thinks someone’s withholding food." Unfortunately, a chef would be overworked and unable to change Tammy's weight.
Viewers are scrambling looking for a quick fix to Tammy's weight loss problems, but a personal chef isn't the correct solution. Although a chef could make healthier food options, Tammy would likely still be overeating. Additionally, personal chefs are expensive and Tammy isn't the typical client. Hopefully, Tammy can come up with a more practical solution on 1000-Lb Sistersseason 3.
Beloved fans of Archie Comics all know the main character, Archie, but his first appearancerevealed that he never really liked the name Archie (he hates it actually) and asked readers to call him “Chick” instead. Archie despised his name so much that he threatened to beat anyone up who calls him Archie. Fans were, understandably, left scratching their heads after seeing a post of one of the pages from Pep Comics #22 on Twitter last week. For as long as they could remember, Archie was just Archie.
As an enduring pop-culture icon, Archie Comics is one of the most well-known comic series in history.Archie is so recognizable that even non-comics fans likely know of him. More recently, CW’s show based on the comic, Riverdale, has exploded in popularity. Despite this, Archie wasn’t really even the main character of his origin comic at first. 1940's Pep Comics #1 by Harry Shorten and Irv Novick introduced The Shield, a superhero who sported a patriotic red, white, and blue costumelong before Captain America who would debut a year later. It’s said that The Shieldwas created as a way to boost American morale and patriotism before the United States entered World War II. Archie and his friends Betty and Jughead were all introduced in Pep Comics #22, while Veronica didn’t show up until Pep Comics #26. But the teen friends became so popular that Pep Comic's original publisher, MLJ, evolved to become Archie Comics Publications, Inc. So, with Archie having been known as Archie for so many years (in fact, 2021 is Archie’s 80th anniversary) it’s hard to understand why he had ever wanted to be known by any other name.
A post on Twitter shows a page from Pep Comics #22where Archie is introduced to the world, the first caption’s second sentence says, “He hates Archie, so if you value life and limb, call him ‘Chick.’” Readers see Archie trying to impress his pretty, blonde neighbor Betty Cooper by standing on a bicycle seat. Not long after, he officially introduces himself as Archie, but he immediately directs her to call him “Chick.” According to fans, the nickname “Chick” doesn’t seem to catch on in the following issues, and some suggest an editorial dispute as the reason. Others guess that the name “Chick” never really left. Charles Cooper, Betty’s older brother’s nickname, “Chic” appears to bejust a truncated version of the nameand seemingly pays homage to Archie’s old name.
It seems that fans will never really get to know why Archie wanted to be called “Chick” in the first place. His affinity for the nickname could simply be a product of the time period. One commenter noted that the name “Chick” was pretty popular back in the 1940s. In fact, Archie was born in the Golden Age of Comics (which lasted from 1938 to 1955), a time where comics started to introduce superheroes. In the midst of that superhero content, maybe fans wanted someone to connect with and that person was Archie. It’s likely this small-town teen just seemed to resonate with readers.
If the name “Chick” was so popular back then, maybe it was just nice to see a fictional Chick in your favorite comics. But, honestly, it seems like readers will never really know why Archie liked the name Chick—so much that he'd kill for it. Fans will just have to continue to wonder.
A decade ago, Paul Feig’s Bridesmaids broke new ground for female-led comedies. There had been comedies starring women before Bridesmaids – from 9 to 5 to Working Girl – but they were few and far between. Kristen Wiig’s starring vehicle inspired a wave of female-led comedies with no interest in the male gaze, like Trainwreck, Booksmart, and Feig’s own The Heat and Ghostbusters.
If the Oscar-nominated script for Bridesmaids had been written a couple of decades earlier and a pre-Judd Apatow comedy mogul picked it up in the 1980s, it might’ve starred such legendary performers as Gilda Radner, Whoopi Goldberg, and Lily Tomlin.
8 Gilda Radner As Annie
Kristen Wiig co-wrote Bridesmaids with Annie Mumolo as a starring vehicle for herself. The role of Annie made her a recognizable star across the world and launched her movie career.
The role of Annie’s best friend Lillian, the one who’s actually getting married, was played by Wiig’s SNL co-star Maya Rudolph. Rudolph nailed line deliveries like, “Why can’t you be happy for me and then go home and talk about me behind my back like a normal person!?”
Lillian is characterized as a deadpan reactionary figure opposite Annie’s midlife crisis. In the ‘80s, the part could’ve been played by Whoopi Goldberg, whose self-titled one-woman show won her a Grammy and earned her a spot on Broadway throughout the decade.
6 Carol Kane As Rita
Originally played by Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rita has the least romantic view of Lillian’s upcoming wedding, because she’s been married for years and all the passion is gone from her relationship with her husband.
In the ‘80s, Carol Kane was primarily known for appearing in the opening and closing acts of the horror classic When a Stranger Calls, answering the calls from the ominous titular stranger. But she’s mainly a comedic actor, having given kooky turns in Annie Hall, The Princess Bride, an episode of Seinfeld, and more recently in Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. She could’ve made a hysterically deadpan Rita in an ‘80s production of Bridesmaids.
5 Lily Tomlin As Megan
It would be tough for anybody to replace Melissa McCarthy as Megan in Bridesmaids. The role of Megan earned McCarthy an Academy Award nomination and made her a global movie star overnight. But if anybody could play the role in the ‘80s, it would be Lily Tomlin.
Not only is Tomlin a comedy legend who rose to prominence in the ‘70s with her dry, biting, Grammy-winning standup; she’s also an Oscar nominee herself, thanks to her naturalistic turn in Robert Altman’s ensemble epic Nashville.
4 John Cleese As Officer Rhodes
Annie’s most wholesome and suitable love interest, Officer Rhodes, was originally played by Chris O’Dowd. In the ‘80s, this part could’ve been played by John Cleese, who played a romantic lead opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in A Fish Called Wanda.
Becca is the newlywed Disney fan played by The Office’s Ellie Kemper who has a much happier view of marriage than Rita (until she opens up that she’s not as happy with her new spouse as she seems). In the ‘80s, this role could’ve been played by iconic sketch performer Tracey Ullman.
Notably, Becca is the youngest of the group. Ullman’s sketch show – the one that launched The Simpsons – shot her to stardom in the late ‘80s when the comedian was still in her 20s.
2 Carol Channing As Judy
Annie’s mother Judy, who attends AA meetings despite never having touched a drop of alcohol, was played hilariously by Jill Clayburgh. Bridesmaids ended up being Clayburgh’s final film appearance, as she passed away in 2010 before the movie’s release.
In the ‘80s, the part could’ve been played by Carol Channing, a legend of stage and screen who received an Oscar nomination for her performance as Muzzy Van Hossmere in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Channing didn’t appear in a single movie in the 1980s – after 1968’s Skidoo, she only ever did cameos or voice roles – but she likely would’ve made an exception if a script as great as Bridesmaids came along.
1 Jane Fonda As Helen
The role of Helen Harris III can’t just be played by a comedic actor; it needs to be played by a dramatic actor with comedic chops. Helen could’ve been one-dimensional and wholly unlikable, but Rose Byrne brought nuance that humanized the character.
Jane Fonda could’ve made a great casting choice for Helen in the ‘80s. She was hilarious in 9 to 5 and Cat Ballou, but also gave universally praised dramatic turns in Klute and Coming Home. She could’ve leaned into the snobbish personality quirks that make Helen hilarious, but also would’ve captured the flaws and insecurities that make her human.
Often compared as the same hero in their respective universes, DC's poster boy Superman and the Milestone powerhouse Icon once had a heroic friendship. However, they haven’t shared a panel together in a while.
The Dakotaverse of Milestone Media has largely been kept apart from the broader DC Universe. Throughout the 90s’, Milestone’s titles such as Icon, Static, and others occupied their own place in space and time. Eventually, the universes collided and DC heroes were finally able to interact with the Dakotaverse. Since Milestone heroes had a hiatus for several years until recently, Superman and Icon haven’t seen much of each other. Similarly, there hasn’t been any opportunity for Static to cross paths with Batman or other members of the Justice League, like he had in his animated series. With Milestone’s recent reboot and Icon’s return to comics, his friendship with Superman needs to make a comeback.
Since they are both alien refugees who disguise themselves as ordinary humans, they naturally have a few things in common aside from their powers. However, this common ground has given them the ability to gain perspective on one another. A scene from Justice League of America #30 written by the late great Dwayne McDuffie, co-creator of Icon, with art by Jose Luis showed the potential of their partnership. When Icon had a chance to connect with Superman in space outside the Justice League’s headquarters, the Watchtower, he told him about how he admired his leadership. “Your modesty aside, I’m not talking about your powers. It’s your example that makes the difference. You’re a transformative figure…”
Originally stated by the founders of Milestone, Icon was created with the framework of Superman in mind. However, Icon and Rocket: Season One has explored new differences between the heroes’ approaches to bringing justice and freedom to the world. In their current incarnations, Icon and Superman are practically alternate universe versions of one another. Now that there have been additional distinctions between their superhero methods, a team-up would be especially compelling. Superman’s origin story might involve his escape to Earth as an infant, but it has nothing to do with race. When Icon came to the planet, his appearance came with a perspective on humanity that Kal-El never had. Unlike Superman, Icon had to be convinced to use his powers to make a better tomorrow by Rocket, because what he had learned about Earth didn’t inspire him.
As the first seasons of the Milestone titles have begun to find their footing, a DC and Dakotaverse crossover seems inevitable. Although the two corners of the DC Universe are currently being kept separate, it hasn’t been directly addressed if they are set in the same world. Regardless, a universe-crossing story taking inspiration from the 1994 crossover event Worlds Collide which first bridged the Dakotaverse with DC would be a fun storyline to revisit. Considering their contrasting views of the world and life philosophies, Icon and Superman have a lot to offer each other.
Since Married At First Sight stars Jephte Pierre and Shawniece Jackson had their daughter Laura, they have blessed fans with countless images of their sweet family. Fans of Married At First Sight always point to Jephte and Shawniece as proof that the show can lead to real relationships. Though they had their struggles and were surprised by Shawniece's pregnancy, Laura seemed to bring them together and the pair seem happier than ever. Here are some of Jephte's cutest family pictures.
Jephte and Shawniece got married without ever meeting in Married At First Sight season 6. Jephte is an elementary school teacher and the matchmakers paired him with cosmetologist Shawniece.
Jephte and Shawniece were known for arguing a lot on their season, but ultimately working through their issues together and choosing to remain married. In 2018, the pair welcomed daughter Laura Denise Pierre and have been posting adorable family pictures ever since.
Jephte is willing to do anything for his little girl, including pulling her around a parking lot in a wagon for as long as she wants. He hilariously called her "the princess of Zamunda" in reference to the Eddie Murphy movie Coming to America. One fan asked if Jephte was ready for another child in the comments. As one of 14 children, Jephte always wanted a big family like he had, while Shawniece wanted to wait for more kids. The couple seem happy showering Laura with all their love and affection, but there may be more babies in the future for the happy couple.
Jephte's most recent Instagram post last month came from his four-year anniversary celebration with Shawniece and Laura. The trio was dressed up in all black with Jephte also celebrating his Haitian roots. Laura and Jephte were all smiles and hugs in the picture, with Jephte letting fans know he is a proud girl dad in the caption, followed by multicolored heart emojis. Jephte got a lot of love in the comments, with fans praising his parenting skills and saying how heartwarming the post is.
In a sweet post celebrating all of the fathers and grandfathers out there for Father's Day, Jephte shared the cutest picture of him and Laura. He said how fortunate he felt to be a dad and the two were all smiles as he lifted Laura in the air. In the second picture, Jephte gave her an adorable kiss on the nose. If fans were not already in love with Jephte and Shawniece on Married at First Sight season 6, their adorable pictures showing Laura off should do it.
Fans of Sister Wiveshave criticized Kody Brown's inability to treat his wives equally, and one strong accusation made against the polygamist is he replaced Christine with Robyn. It's obvious to not only the Sister Wives' fanbase but to the reality show's stars as well that Robyn is Kody's favorite wife. From the timing of his marriage to Robyn to Christine's consistently unmet marital needs, here's why viewers think Kody swapped out Christine for Robyn.
In addition to there being a noticeable difference in the attention Kody affords his first three wives and the affection he volunteers to Robyn, there's also a significant gap of time in between Kody marrying his third wife, Christine, and his fourth wife, Robyn. Kody married Meri, Janelle, and Christine in swift succession, in the years 1990, 1993, and 1994, respectively. Kody and Robyn's wedding day, however, didn't take place for over 15 years after the polygamist patriarch tied the knot with Christine. With Robyn's induction into the family came intense dynamic shifts. Chiefly, Kody's emotional connection with his first three wives nosedived. Over the years, Christine has become more comfortable voicing her concerns about her relationship with Kody, who fans think already gave up on all of his marriages except for his fourth.
One similarity between Christine and Robyn is they both seem to want a monogamous relationship more than a polygamous one. Fans regularly theorize that Robyn doesn't like to share Kody and keeps him from adding new sister wives to their plural marriage. Christine has also demonstrated that she would thrive in a marriage without sister wives as she's expressed fear of losing control when living at home with all of Kody's wives and children. Unfortunately, only Robyn is receiving the monogamous relationship treatment from Kody. One Reddit user wrote, "Christine and Robyn want the same things from Kody but he doesn't see Christine's needs as worthy... Kody's priority will always be Robyn's brood." Kody displayed this favoritism when he didn't show up for his and Christine's daughter, Ysabel, when she got major spine surgery. Kody had made a point to be present at an operation for Robyn's son, however.
In addition to favoring Robyn's children, fans also think Kody was suspicious in his timing of bringing his fourth wife into his plural marriage. Specifically, viewers thought it was strange that Kody got married to Robyn while Christine was pregnant. Fans interpreted this as Kody growing less interested in Christine as she became a mother and wanted a newer model, so to speak. The fan on Reddit commented, "His new shiny new toy was out of commission so he started courting Robyn." Another Reddit user responded that Christine, "became truly useless to [Kody]" after she wasn't able to have more sons. Kody shifted all of his attention to Robyn, even when Christine was in labor with her youngest daughter, Truely. Kody was late to the hospital because he was spending time with Robyn. A Reddit fan wrote, "Kody was... a trash father to Christine’s kids during Truely’s birth episode."
Kody is committed to his polygamist ideals, however, his blatant favoritism tells some Sister Wives fans that Kody can only be interested in one wife at a time. From prioritizing Robyn's kid to getting married to another wife during Christine's pregnancy, audiences venture Robyn served as Christine's replacement. As the Sister Wivesseason 16 trailer indicates, Christine isn't far from leaving the family and finding her own replacement for Kody.
In a new Star Wars comic, it has been revealed that Darth Vader believed Emperor Palpatine was scared he might kill his own son, Luke Skywalker. It isn’t such a big leap to take that the Emperor could have hoped for Luke to replace Vader.
Throughout the original trilogy, it was teased that Luke Skywalker might give into the dark side. When revealed to be the son of the galaxy’s most feared Sith, it suddenly made sense why he should fear such a doomed destiny. As Vader relayed the news about his son being behind the destruction of the Death Star, Palpatine suggested that Luke could be a powerful asset. Taking place after The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Darth Vader #17 expands on this sentiment. The latest issue is written by Greg Pak with art by Raffaele Ienco and Alex Sinclair.
As Darth Vader flies his TIE Fighter behind Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing, he speaks to his son, revealing that his master wants him alive. However, he recognizes that the Emperor is scared that won’t happen, as Vader is more powerful than Luke at this point in his Jedi training. Interestingly, this doesn’t cause him to want to take Luke down, as he’s content to feel his fear through the Force. “You know you cannot escape me, my son. But today you will. Because my master has shown his hand. He wants you alive. So it will have to be enough to know your fear.”
It was previously revealed in Darth Vader #11 that the Emperor has an entire cult of groupies on Exegol known as “the Sith Eternal,” ready to replace Vader at any moment. When Vader learned about them, Palpatine commanded the cult to attack. Although he quickly defeated the Sith Eternal, this revelation likely impacted his view of his master, especially going into Return of the Jedi where he started expressing his lack of confidence in the Emperor. The Sith have always had their own personal agenda, seeking self-interest above all else, consistently thinking several steps ahead of themselves. If Palpatine already has his Final Order fleet of Star Destroyers hidden on Exegol, he likely has other secret plans that could unfold much sooner.
Throughout Darth Vader comics, storylines have helped bridge a gap between Vader’s allegiance and betrayal to his master. In the original trilogy, Luke’s compassion was the catalyst for Vader’s redemption, but recent issues have incorporated other reasons why the Sith might be trying to get out of the relationship. His assumption that Palpatine wants him to keep Luke alive so he can take his place someday might be the thing that helped seal the deal. Eventually, Darth Vader’s suspicions are confirmed as the Emperor tempts Luke with the offer.
While the DC Universe is constantly playing with the status quo, Batman Beyond commits to its premise. There have been a handful of second generation superheroes who truly make the part their own, and Terry McGinnis is one of the few.
As DC Comics is setting the stage for a new wave of superheroes, fans can’t help but compare them to their predecessors. Although some readers might adjust quickly to Jon Kent’s Superman or have favor on Wally West’s Flash, it can take time before it feels like they have earned their titles. For a season, Dick Grayson AKA Nightwing took on the mantle of Batman in Battle for the Cowl, but it didn’t last as long as DC had hinted. The current next Batman, Tim Fox, might turn out to be similar. Comics have famously played with the status quo, only to revert back to what fans expect. Jon Kent and Damian Wayne might be older now, but it can seem like a matter of time until they are younger again. However, one title has shaken up canon to create an alternate DC Universe which it fully embraces.
Expanding on the premise of the animated series, the comics’ Batman Beyond imagines a future Gotham City in which teenager Terry McGinnis is the new Dark Knight. As the comics went on for more than decade, only more changes to the DC Universe were incorporated, and none of them felt cheap or inauthentic to what had come before. As readers were used to the idea of Terry’s Batman, his characterization was just as familiar as the older version of Bruce Wayne. Eventually, Terry’s younger brother Matt broke into the Batcave, stole the Robin suit, and watched old recordings from when Bruce trained Damian. His inclusion as the new Boy Wonder similarly worked, and didn’t feel like a jarring turn of events.
The mainstream DC Universe can reimagine canon’s future from time to time with events like Future State, but Batman Beyond serves as an example for how it can be done well. Instead of playing with the same toys and adding a new coat of paint, the Beyond universe envisions a drastically different take on Gotham City. Stories might contain the occasional villain from the past, but Terry also takes on original antagonists such as Inque and Blight. When second generation heroes only continue to go up against villains who their predecessors fought, it becomes easier to compare them and feel like something’s missing.
As Terry McGinnis went onto join his own Justice League with a new roster of heroes, he continued to grow into his own. The animated Batman Beyond focused on Terry’s journey, knowing that it wouldn’t be a simple change for fans to accept. At this point, Terry McGinnis is just as much Batman as Bruce Wayne.
After breaking the record for the highest-grossing movie of all time and changing the face of Hollywood with both Jaws and E.T., Steven Spielberg went and did it again with his groundbreaking 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park. With cutting-edge visual effects that still hold up today, Spielberg brought dinosaurs back to life. Jaws defined the summer tentpole, but Jurassic Park added CGI into the mix.
From the raptors’ suspenseful attack in the kitchen to the T. rex’s escape from its flimsily guarded paddock, Jurassic Park has a ton of memorable action sequences.
10 Raptors Attack Dr. Sattler
After getting to the power station, Dr. Sattler manages to get the electricity back on in the park and the heroes’ troubles seem to be over. And then, she’s attacked by a couple of raptors that made their way into the station.
She finds Ray Arnold’s severed arm, which provides an effective jump scare, and temporarily holds off the raptors by trapping them behind a chain-link fence that they start breaking through. The movie sets up the raptors as relentless killing machines, and their vicious debut doesn’t disappoint.
9 Dr. Grant Saves Tim From A Car In A Tree
When the T. rex escapes from its paddock, Dr. Grant ends up stranded in the jungle with Lex and Tim. Even after the T. rex has left them alone, they’re not out of the woods – so to speak – because Tim is trapped in a car that’s stuck in a tree.
Dr. Grant climbs up the tree to help him out, initially promising that they can take as long as he needs. But then, he accidentally turns the steering wheel, readjusting the tires, which sends the car careening out of the tree, so the stakes are instantly raised. Grant and Tim have to race the falling car out of the tree and barely make it out alive.
8 Crawling Through The Ceiling
When the raptors figure out how to use door handles, the survivors climb up into the ceiling to avoid them. But then, the raptors figure out how to get through the ceiling panels.
A raptor pokes its head up when Lex is crawling through the ceiling and Dr. Grant barely has time to hoist her back up before the dinosaurs start nipping at her feet.
7 Nedry Is Killed By A Dilophosaurus
Played by Seinfeld’s Wayne Knight, Dennis Nedry has a duplicitous plan to steal some dinosaur embryos from the park and sell them to the highest bidder. However, on his way down to the docks in the pouring rain, he gets lost and crashes his car. While he’s scrambling to get his wheels out of the mud, he’s attacked and killed by a Dilophosaurus.
The Dilophosaurus is the least historically accurate dinosaur in the movie, because Stan Winston took artistic liberties with its design. To make it a terrifying movie monster, Winston gave the Dilophosaurus venomous spit and a vibrating neck frill.
6 The Opening Velociraptor Kill
The opening scene of Jurassic Park gets the movie off to a suitably ominous start. As a bunch of InGen employees are trying to transfer a raptor, the caged predator manages to grab a dinosaur handler and kill him.
Spielberg leaves everything gruesome off-screen to leave the blood-soaked horrors to the audience’s imagination, like he did with the shark in Jaws.
5 Muldoon Is Killed By Raptors
Gun-toting game warden Robert Muldoon offers to distract the approaching raptors while Dr. Sattler goes to turn the power back on. He tracks one of them, but before he knows it, a second raptor has snuck up on him from the side. He quips, “Clever girl,” before being mauled to death.
This sequence pays off Dr. Grant’s monologue from the beginning of the movie. About an hour after he explains the raptors’ killing methods to a terrified child, audiences get to see those methods in action when Muldoon meets a grisly end.
4 The Velociraptors Take On The T. Rex
In the big finale of Jurassic Park, nature cancels itself out. As Drs. Grant and Sattler and the kids are being chased through the visitors’ center by a pair of raptors, the T. rex makes its way inside.
The T. rex and the raptors get into a fight with each other, allowing the heroes to escape. This is what Ian Malcolm meant when he said, “Life finds a way.” There’s a glorious moment when the “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” banner drapes across the frame as the victorious T. rex roars.
3 The T. Rex Car Chase
When Dr. Sattler and the other survivors catch up with an injured Dr. Malcolm and hoist him onto the back of a jeep, he feels thunderous footsteps coming their way and tells the others to hurry up. The car barely takes off down the road before the T. rex bursts through some nearby trees and chases after it.
This scene is most notable for the shot of the T. rex reflected in a side-view mirror with the classic warning legend, “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.” It’s a funny little detail that makes the sequence much more memorable.
2 The Velociraptors In The Kitchen
When Lex and Tim get back to the visitors’ center and enjoy a feast left behind by the cooks, they think their troubles are over. But of course, they’re just beginning, as a pair of velociraptors follow them into the kitchen (an ironic setting for hungry dinosaurs to stalk frightened children).
Using camera trickery like misleading reflections in the shiny cabinet doors, Spielberg made this suspenseful set-piece a masterclass in Hitchcockian tension. It’s unlikely that a PG-13 movie will kill off the kids, but the audience fears for their lives nonetheless because the sequence is so intense.
1 The T. Rex Escapes
There’s a lot of complicated exposition to get through in the first half of Jurassic Park, but it’s all leading up to the T. rex’s escape from its paddock in the movie’s mind-blowing midpoint set-piece. The first big dinosaur action sequence is well worth the wait.
The pouring rain creates a sinister atmosphere as the paddock’s fence is torn down and the giant predator emerges with a deafening roar. The combination of state-of-the-art animatronics and groundbreaking CGI brings the T. rex to life and sells the unbridled terror of the situation. This isn’t just Jurassic Park’s greatest set-piece; it’s one of the most iconic moments in movie history.
The Marvel hero Silk will face threats both ancient and modern in her new solo series beginning in January 2022. Featuring the return of Takeshi Miyazawa on art duties, the series will be written by Emily Kim and follow on from the events of the Silk: Threats and Menaces miniseries.
Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, and first debuting in 2014 in The Amazing Spider-Man #4, Silk has since grown into one of the most popular of Marvel’s newer characters. After being bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his powers, Korean-American teenager Cindy Moon gained almost identical super powers except for the additional ability to shoot organic webbing from the tips of her fingers. Silk was then locked away in a bunker by her family for ten years before being freed by Peter Parker.
Having since faced the darkness of her past and made peace with her family the new Silk series is looking to focus on both the character’s future, rather than her tragic past, and her relationship with her Korean heritage. Talking to SheKnows, series writer Emily Kim talked about moving the character beyond her past trauma stating, “Now that she's truly gotten over her past, [Silk] realizes she hasn't spent any time considering her future, which is leaving her a bit lost.” Marvel also has stated that the series will find the hero facing something it's described as “ancient Korean magic” and the even more sinister threat of sudden social media popularity. In the same interview, Emily Kim highlighted how “ironic” it is for Silk, of all of Marvel’s heroes, to become popular on social media: “She doesn't get any of it, which highlights how she's out of touch with her generation.” Silk’s lack of knowledge of the digital age has become something of a running joke with the character, with the Threats and Menaces series revealing that Cindy’s co-workers have nicknamed her “Analog.”
It is interesting to learn that the new series will once again feature Silk confronting a mystical threat while rubbing shoulders with the powers of social media. The miniseries Silk: Threats and Menaces, by Maurene Goo and Takeshi Miyazawa, saw the web-spinner facing off against an ancient Japanese demon-cat called Kasha. Kasha had been hired by the influencer/evil genius Saya Ishii, the illegitimate daughter of the supervillain Silvermane, to help her take control of the gangs of New York but found herself betrayed by the demon and was forced to recruit Silk’s help. It seems Marvel feels that they’ve struck gold with this juxtaposition of the old world and the new being simultaneous sources of stress for Silk and are looking to continue this trend in 2022.
While Marvel has not revealed how long the new Silkseries will run, it is good for fans to see that the publisher has recognized the character’s popularity has only increased since her debut in 2014. To see the hero face off against ancient Korean magic, readers will have to make sure to pick up Silk #1 in January 2022.
TheReal Housewives of New York City star Luann de Lesseps reveals that she got along the least with costar Ramona Singer during the filming of a Real Housewives franchise spin-off The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. Luann recently opened up about her experience on the Peacock special. The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip features an all-star cast of Real Housewives including Kyle Richards, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, as well as Melissa Gorga, and Teresa Giudice.
Luann first appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City season 1 in 2008 alongside co-star Ramona singer. Luann and Ramona haven't ever seemed to see eye to eye during their time on the show together. In the past, Ramona has claimed that Luann behaved in a self-centered manner, and Luann has expressed that she feels Ramona has been judgmental towards her in regards to her marriage.
Recently, Luann opened up about her time filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. On Thursday, Luann told E! News’s Daily Pop that she had a positive experience on the show overall. However, Luann did clash with at least one co-star. Luann says she “had the most conflict with Ramona." She also adds that she was “surprised” to have experienced friction with a star that she has been working with for so long, rather than the girls she had not yet gotten to know, saying“I was expecting it to come from somewhere else but it was home base.”In regards to how she got along with her other co-stars on the trip, Luann says “it was so much fun. It’s so different from housewives shows in general because you kind of get a peek behind the scenes as to what life is really like being on the shows.” Luann claimed she expected to have issues with co-star Kenya Moore based on rumors she'd heard about her in the past, but was "pleasantly surprised" to learn that would not be the case. Luann expressed that she is grateful to Kenya for backing her up during issues with Ramona because it provided her with a sense of clarity in regards to some of Ramona’s familiar behavior. Luann says“it was great because I saw a different perspective because I’m so used to Ramona and then I saw the women’s reactions to her and it was like oh maybe she shouldn’t be getting away with all of this ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.'”
Luann says that dinner with The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip stars has been calmer than some of her past on-screen dinners, as she is sober and believes stars on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drink less than some of their New York counterparts. Luann and her co-stars discussed their family and work lives with each other, saying "we're mothers. We're juggling things, we're juggling our lives you know everybody's got their busy schedules." Luann mentions that co-star Kyle Richards has been busy filming Halloween Kills. As for what exactly has been keeping Luann busy, she notes that she has been dating but has mostly kept her focus on her recent cabaret show. Though she says she loves her show and "can't wait to perform live again," she also says she's a "hopeless" romantic and may want to get married again someday.
While Luann claimed to be caught off guard by her continuing drama with Ramona, fans of The Real Housewives of New York City who recall the history between the two may not be as surprised. As for whether or not Luann butted heads with any of her other phenomenal co-stars on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, fans will have to take Luann's word regarding the lack of tension until the show airs. Regardless of who is fighting with who, one thing that remains the most certain about the upcoming special is that its premiere will be a night to remember.
Jill Duggar's family came together to offer her their support, after the Counting On star announced she miscarried her third child on her family YouTube channel. Jill and her husband Derek Dillard got married in 2014 after courting each other for about a year. The couple met face to face for the first time in Nepal, where Derick was working with Jill's dad Jim Bob Duggar. Prior to, and after their first meeting, a majority of their relationship took place over the phone or via Skype. Derek moved back to Arkansas in January 2014, and just two months later, the couple was engaged. Things moved pretty quickly from there, as they got married in June 2014 and found out they were expecting their first son only a month later.
Just before their first son was born in 2015, Derick and Jill were offered an opportunity to serve as missionaries in Central America. After their son was born, the couple decided that serving in Central America was the right move for them, packed up their lives, and moved there. The couple stayed in Central America for two years, coming back home just in time to give birth to their second child Samuel. Since then, the couple has stepped away from the TV cameras and began sharing their lives through their YouTube channel. Jill has also distanced herself from the strict rules she grew up having to follow as a kid. She now wears pants, cut her hair, and even pierced her nose.
Jill's family recently came together to offer her support after she announced she experienced a miscarriage earlier this month. In their YouTube video, Jill and Derick explained how excited they were to find out they were expecting a third child, only to be heartbroken to find out they were miscarrying a few days later. They also shared they had planned to name the baby River Bliss Dillard. After sharing the video on her Instagram, her family flooded the comments section with their love. Sister Joy-Anna Duggar commented that River was loved by so many, and she sent her love and prayers to Jill, who she said her heart is breaking for. Sister Jessa and Jinger also expressed their love for Jill and sent her prayers.
While many of Jill's family reached out, including sisters and cousins, there were noticeably a few family members missing from the comments section. One sister who didn't reach out publicly was Jana Duggar, who has spoken publicly about Jill's decision to distance herself from her family. None of Jill's sister in laws, or her brothers reached out publicly with their support either. This adds more speculation into the rumors that Jill is on bad terms with some of her family, after choosing to break away from her family's strict way of life. Others have made minor changes to their lifestyles, but Jill has made the most waves since getting married, such as admitting to using birth control.
It seems like most of the Duggar children are following in their parents footsteps in terms of having a big family. Jill seems to be the only one content with having a smaller family. It will be interesting to follow along with Jill and Derick on their YouTube channel while they navigate this loss. The former Counting On star posts videos of her and her little family as they go on adventures together across America, and introduce their boys to so many new things. It will be so exciting to continue to watch the Dillard family as they grow and learn.
The Bachelor alum Jillian Anderson is speaking out about how "mortified" she was at an edit the show gave her. It's a poorly kept secret that contestants on The Bachelor franchise don't always like how they're portrayed by the show's producers. There have been multiple instances when franchise alums have revealed that the way something happened on the show was taken out of context. A contestant from Peter Weber's season, Victoria Fuller, implied producers treated her poorly, which is why she didn't go on Bachelor in Paradise. Other alums probably understand where Jillian is coming from.
Blake Horstmann, who appeared on both The Bachelorette and BIP, outed producers by revealing they purchase a bunch of gifts, like jewelry, ahead of time so contestants can give them to each other on the beach. After Chasen Nick gifted Deandra Kanu a necklace on BIP season 7, Blake made sure to let fans know that the producers set up the gifts to manufacture drama. He's also said how scary it is that the show can take anything he says and edit it together. Being in an environment where anything you say can be edited out of context can be stressful, so it makes sense that Blake would want to reveal the behind-the-scenes of how the show really works.
Jillian recently revealed her issues with the edit she got on the "She's All Bach" podcast. Jillian, who competed on Chris Soules' season, had a black box put over her bottom when she wore a bikini. Only, it wasn't just when she was in a bathing suit, the running gag followed her all throughout the season. According to her, a producer told her this was going to happen before the second episode aired. "He was like, 'Well, your butt’s a little big and sometimes things got a little cheeky, so we had to blur it out. Disney made us,' which I don’t believe," Jillian said (via Us Weekly). "'Instead of doing a little blur, we did a giant black bar, really over-exaggerated it,' and I was just mortified." Luckily, Bachelor Nation alums Clare Crawley and Michelle Money stood up for her. Jillian also said that no one can understand "how bad it’s actually going to be" before going on the show. She claimed that she was wearing a "full bottom" bikini that "wasn’t a scandalous bikini by any means."
Not only did Jillian feel humiliated about the black bar, but a one-on-one date between her and Chris where they played "Would You Rather" was apparently also edited. Even though it looked like she was playing, Jillian claims she was actually speaking to a producer about a joke she heard from another contestant. "If you watch that date, there is never a [two-person] shot during that conversation," Jillian said. While she wasn't too keen on playing into what the producers wanted that season, apparently Kaitlyn Bristowe and Ashley Iaconetti were down to play along. Jillian alleged that Ashley said, "'Whatever the producers say, I’m just gonna do it,'" while Kaitlyn knew she had to "play ball" to stay on the show. However, she also said that Kaitlyn is the type of person to do "out-of-the-box things" without any prodding, anyway.
Even though she's able to laugh about everything now, it's still wrong that Jillian had to go through that humiliation. While there's nothing wrong with contestants being willing to put themselves out there and play by the rules of the reality show, it's still unfair to edit others in a way that will embarrass them without them knowing it will happen. Fans of The Bachelor know it's full of drama, so it's not too surprising that producers would be pulling strings to make the show more entertaining for the audience.
