Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Best Perks to Craft First (& Why)

There are a few ways to improve combat in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, including acquiring and crafting the best perks. To get perks, players have to explore their surroundings as Star-Lord in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy to find Crafting Components. Crafting Components are needed to unlock more perks, and players need to actively search for them in order to craft more perks right away.

Perk Crafting Components can be found throughout Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy by destroying environmental objects and taking alternate pathways. After gaining enough materials to craft a perk, Star-Lord can head to any workbench, where Rocket can craft the perk. Perks ultimately provide upgrades to Star-Lord's equipment that make him deadlier and safer in combat and to mechanics like material gathering, making them a vital piece of the Guardians of the Galaxy game

The four perks players will want to get first in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy are the Components Localizer, Perfect Dodge, Charged Shot, and Air Glide. These perks offer a mix of combat and exploration benefits that will provide advantages to players in the early game. Players should start by crafting the Components Localizer to make crafting the other three most important perks, and all other perks after that, easier.

The Components Localizer indicates when Crafting Components are nearby through Star-Lord's visor. Since Crafting Components are the needed material to acquire more perks in Guardians of the Galaxy, this perk should be the first one that players craftThis perk works by adding a symbol in Star-Lord's visor, as well as to the top-right of the screen. Additionally, a noise is made when the symbol activates to help bring attention to the Crafting Components nearby.

Perfect Dodge is another great perk to seek early on so players can get the timing right sooner and use this essential Guardians of the Galaxy combat mechanic in later, more difficult battles. Perfect Dodge slows time for a brief moment after dodging an attack at the last second. This perk is useful for setting up quick counterattacks after time slows and returns to normal.

Charged Shot is an offensive perk that works well with the combat system in Guardians of the Galaxy, and it's particularly useful for its help in staggering enemies. While stagger is an effect of some Guardians' abilities in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, it takes more time to unlock those abilities than it does to craft the Charged Shot perk. This perk will become less effective as players continue to unlock abilities, so the best time to make use of it is early on in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Air Glide is essentially a mini-version of Star-Lord's Vantage Point ability, where he uses the jet boots to fly around in the air and shoot enemies for a short time. It adds another level of defensive mobility to Star Lord's character while maintaining his offensive capabilities. Air Glide activates when Star-Lord jumps near one of the many bizarre enemy alien creatures in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
