Prior to the release of Halo Infinite, developer 343 reminded fans of the Halo Insider program, which could make big changes to Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Halo MCC was released in 2014, as a compilation of all the previously released games from Halo: Combat Evolved to Halo 4. Players can play any of the games' singleplayer, multiplayer, and co-op modes while earning seasonal unlocks and content, with the Master Chief Collection currently in its 8th season.
Before Halo Insider there was the MCC Insider program for people who owned a digital copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection or were registered in the original MCC Insider program prior to the collection's release. The MCC Insider program gave members the opportunity to test out new updates and improvements before they went live in the main game. However, it has now been replaced with Halo Insider, which is available for everyone to sign up for.
Halo Insider has already had an impact on Halo Infinite, and will likely make changes to The Master Chief Collection too. Halo Insider is described on the Halo Waypoint website as "the official way for Halo fans and community members to partner with 343 Industries to help improve our games, products, and services." The biggest change it will make to the games is by giving players a voice to make changes and give feedback on new content such as new MCC maps and updates to firefight. Previously, 343 Industries used the Halo Community Feedback Program or “HCFP”, but now Halo Insiders will be given these periodic surveys to complete to give their feedback on changes to the game.

Many fans who were excited for the release of Halo Infinite were delighted when the multiplayer mode was released early in Beta in November, but those who were Halo Insiders got to try it even earlier at the beginning of October, an entire month before its full launch. In addition to providing feedback, Halo Insiders will have exclusive opportunities to participate in hands-on playtests of game releases and additions. 343 Industries released the Halo Infinite Xbox flight to Insiders prior to its earlier release, which could only be accessed by those who had signed up to the Insider program. It is likely that when new maps or other big changes are made to the games currently in The Master Chief Collection, Halo Insider members will be given access to flights for them and then encouraged to provide feedback.
In addition to flighting, Halo Insider has added a new customer service website that helps players learn about new issues and see what the development team is currently investigating. Overall, the Halo Insider program will give more players greater access to the changes that will come to the game in the future. Players who wish to sign up for the Halo Insider program can do so by going to the Waypoint website.
Halo Insider looks set to be the best way for fans of the franchise to get early access to new releases, changes, and give their feedback on the state of both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite. Currently, Infinite and its predecessor Halo 5 are not in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, but there's always the possibility that both games could be added in the future if there's enough demand. In the event this did happen, then members of the Halo Insider program would be the first to try them out.
