Din Djarin was introduced in the pilot episode of The Mandalorian as a lone wolf antihero prowling a galaxy far, far away in search of bounties to bring in “warm... or cold.” However, after he took a baby under his wing in the final moments of the episode, he started to open up to people and became a lot friendlier.
Over the course of The Mandalorian’s first two seasons, Mando has teamed up with a bunch of other characters – including Star Wars icons, like Boba Fett and Ahsoka Tano, and fresh faces, like Migs Mayfeld and Cara Dune.
10 Cobb Vanth

Mando returns to Tatooine in the season 2 premiere “Chapter 9: The Marshal.” There, he meets a local marshal (as the title would suggest), who wears the Mandalorian armor of Boba Fett. As it turns out, it’s not Fett himself – it’s Cobb Vanth, an outlaw who nabbed Fett’s armor from the jaws of the Sarlacc.
In order to claim back the Mandalorian armor, Mando agrees to team up with Vanth to slay a krayt dragon that’s been terrorizing the locals. With the help of some Tusken Raiders, they draw the dragon out of its cave and blow it up using a bantha loaded with explosives.
9 Toro Calican

“Chapter 5: The Gunslinger,” written and directed by Dave Filoni, sees Mando strolling into Mos Eisley Cantina and meeting a fellow bounty hunter named Toro Calican.
Jake Cannavale did a great job of playing Calican as a wannabe Han Solo lacking in both the sharpshooting skills and ice-cool charisma. In the episode, he recruits Mando to help him chase Fennec Shand so he can join the guild.
8 Bo-Katan Kryze
![](https://static2.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Mando-and-Bo-Katan-in-The-Mandalorian.jpg)
Mando meets Bo-Katan Kryze and her fellow Mandalorian assassins when he agrees to help hijack an Imperial ship so she’ll reveal the location of Ahsoka Tano. In the season finale, they reluctantly team up once more to save Grogu from the Imperial Remnants.
Bo-Katan could become the show’s new primary antagonist going into its third season. After Mando unwittingly claimed the Darksaber, he’s the only thing that stands between Bo-Katan and her ultimate goal of ruling Mandalore.
7 Peli Motto
![](https://static2.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Amy-Sedaris-as-Peli-Motto-in-The-Mandalorian.jpg)
Played by the incredible Amy Sedaris, Peli Motto is a recurring guest character who shows up whenever Mando goes to Tatooine. She’s a reliable mechanic and an even more reliable babysitter.
Since she first saw Grogu aboard the Razor Crest, she’s been obsessed with the kid. With the same cultural frame of reference as Luke Skywalker, Motto affectionately calls Grogu a “womp rat.”
6 Ahsoka Tano

Traditionally, the Mandalorians and the Jedi haven’t gotten along. There was even a whole Mandalorian-Jedi War. But when Din Djarin learned that Grogu was a Jedi apprentice who needed to be reunited with his people, he began actively seeking out the few surviving Jedi Knights in the galaxy.
Bo-Katan pointed him in the direction of Ahsoka Tano, who only agreed to help Mando if he would help her. When he reluctantly teams up with her, he quips, “A Mandalorian and a Jedi? They’ll never see it coming.”
5 Greef Karga

The first ally of Mando’s that fans were introduced to in the pilot episode was Greef Karga, the head of the bounty hunter guild, played by Carl Weathers. They’re just business associates – and in a pretty dark, amoral line of business – but the two share a real friendship.
From the beginning, Karga has always given Mando positive reinforcement about his abilities as a bounty hunter. When he notices the other bounty hunters glaring at him, Karga warmly assures him, “They all hate you, Mando, because you are a legend.”
4 Boba Fett

When photos from the set of The Mandalorian got out, the title character’s appearance immediately drew comparisons with Boba Fett, with some critics theorizing that the series was retooled from Lucasfilm’s canceled Boba Fett spin-off movie.
Boba himself ended up being incorporated into The Mandalorian’s second season, and he and Mando made a pretty decent team. Boba is a man of his word, and even after Grogu was captured by the Imperial Remnants, he stuck to his promise to help Mando keep him safe.
3 Migs Mayfeld

Bill Burr made a huge impression on Mandalorian fans with his guest appearance as ex-Imperial marksman Migs Mayfeld. Burr shares hilarious chemistry with Pedro Pascal as he busts Mando’s chops at every opportunity.
In season 1’s “Chapter 6: The Prisoner,” Mayfeld and his partners-in-crime betray Mando in the middle of a jailbreak operation. But in season 2’s “Chapter 15: The Believer,” they team up to infiltrate an Imperial compound together.
2 Cara Dune

In “Chapter 4: Sanctuary,” Mando meets ex-Rebel trooper Cara Dune and they agree to help a humble village protect themselves from an impending attack by local bandits. It’s a great homage to Akira Kurosawa’s action-packed classic Seven Samurai with just two people.
Ever since this initial team-up, Cara has been one of Mando’s most reliable associates. Every time he needs help saving Grogu or fighting the Imperial Remnants, Cara is right at his side, blaster at the ready.
1 Grogu
![](https://static3.srcdn.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/The-Mandalorian-Mando-and-Grogu-Flying.jpg)
It goes without saying that Mando’s greatest team-up is his infant companion, Grogu. When Mando first laid eyes on Grogu (through his helmet), it opened him up emotionally. After rescuing him from the Client, he took on the responsibility of raising Grogu as his own until he could reunite him with his people.
Grogu isn’t a very useful ally to Mando, since he’s unable to verbally communicate with him, let alone help out in gunfights and space battles. His companionship is more for emotional support than technical or physical support.
