Age of Empires 4: Best Abbasid Dynasty Wings to Build in Each Age

In Age of Empires 4 players can age to the next civilization stage in the Abbasid Dynasty by creating Wings within their Landmark. Landmarks have replaced the mechanic in past Age of Empire games where players needed to build a certain number of buildings to reach a new era. Unlike other civilizations, the Abbasid Dynasty has only one Landmark and Ages through Wings within its Landmark. By gathering the needed materials, players can advance their Abbasid Dynasty as soon as possible with the best Wings of that age.

There are three ages that every civilization needs to reach in Age of Empires 4. After gathering enough materials for the Wing of their choice, Abbasid Dynasty players will reach the Feudal Age, then the Castle Age, and finally the Imperial Age. Each Wing displays how many resources are required to advance to the next age, as well as the researchable technologies that are unlocked within that Wing. Players who excel at real-time strategy games will find the Abbasid Dynasty to be more complex than most civilizations, but ultimately there is a streamlined pathway for its Wings.

The Abbasid Dynasty plays differently than any other civilization because the House of Wisdom Landmark must be first crafted for 50 wood before any age can be reached. This singular Landmark play makes strategies with the Abbasid Dynasty more advanced than that of, for example, the Holy Roman Empire in Age of Empires 4. Players will have to select the House of Wisdom and pick between the economic, military, culture, and trade wings before they can Age up. Each wing provides a different benefit at each Age, and the order of wings that players should look to Age up through is military, economic, culture, and trade.

The Abbasid Dynasty also allows players to choose the remaining wing for additional technology upgrades once they reach the Imperial Age. By selecting the military wing to bring the Abbasid Dynasty into the Feudal Age, the Camel Support technology can be researched. This technology lets camels increase the armor of nearby infantry by +1, and it increases +1 for every camel. For comparison, this brings the Abbasid Dynasty up to military standards of the French civilization in Age of Empires 4.

Selecting the economic wing to bring the Abbasid Dynasty to the Castle Age will allow players to research the Agriculture technology. This improves the villagers' gathering rate from farms by 15%. Next, using the culture wing to bring the Dynasty to the Imperial Age grants the Faith religious technology. This technology allows Imams to convert units without holding a relic, although they can only target a single unit.

Finally, improving the trade wing after reaching the Imperial Age will allow players to research the outstanding technology in the wing. This is perfect for players who are trying Age of Empires 4 from Xbox Game Pass, because improved trading technologies in the late game can help provide needed resources for upgrades. The trade wing has a lot of technology that's useful for resource gathering in the late such as the Grand Bazaar, where traders also return with a secondary resource. This resource is 25% of the base gold value and is set at the market.
