In Arkane Studios' new game, Deathloop, Colt Vahn is on a mission to break the time loop in the Isle of Blackreef. As one of eight Visionaries, Colt must gather intel and hunt down the other seven in order to end the loop. Doing so means solving mysteries, such as the secret door in Updaam, and tracking down leads on how to take out the others.
Deathloop has multiple endings that affect the fate of the time loop in Blackreef. Leading up to this final decision, players will learn about the Visionaries and find opportunities to get rid of them. Choosing how to take out the others can change the amount of time it takes to reach the end of Deathloop.
In order to reach the Stabilizer Core where each ending is triggered, players must take out every Visionary (besides Julianna). This means tracking down every lead and finding the best strategy to kill each one. Once Colt reaches the Stabilizer Core, the rival assassin, Julianna, will be waiting for him. After a brief exchange, Colt and Julianna will each take a vintage dueling pistol and point it at one another. Players will initiate one of three endings depending on the choice they make with the dueling pistol.
There are three possible endings to unlock in Deathloop, each with a unique cutscene. After entering the Stabilizer Core, Julianna will try to talk Colt into saving the loop. She threatens to shoot him if he breaks the loop and they survive. The endings can be triggered depending on the decision players make when confronting Julianna in the Stabilizer Core. Deathloop's main objective is to break the time loop, but Colt's last decision can potentially go against what he worked towards during the rest of the game.
- Killing Julianna & Colt- To complete the running objective of the game, all the Visionaries have to die. Colt must shoot Julianna, then jump from the Stabilizer Core. Colt will fall briefly, then wake up on the beach with Julianna pointing a gun at him. She will linger for a moment, then turn away and disappear.
- Keeping both Julianna & Colt Alive - Players can decide not to shoot on the count of three. Instead of Julianna and/or Colt dying, the pair restart the day keeping the loop intact. When Colt wakes up on the beach, Julianna is there with him and they have an amicable and humorous exchange.
- Killing Only Julianna- Colt can shoot Julianna during the three-count and sit down instead of jumping. He realizes he isn't ready to go through with breaking the loop, and since there is still a Visionary alive, it will remain intact. In this ending, the other Visionaries, including Julianna, are gone, so Colt lives without them in the time loop.
All three endings can be unlocked while confronting Julianna. The cutscenes that follow are short and don't explain much about the remaining mysteries of the Deathloop, but they are each unique endings to Colt's story. Deathloop includes many choices regarding how to progress and what fate awaits the other Visionaries. Players will ultimately decide the fate of Colt Vahn and the time loop.
