Halloween Kills has announced a new contest where fans can compete for a trip to LA to become Michael Myers' next victim. Halloween Kills, which is coming out on October 15, is the 12th film in the Halloween franchise, which began with John Carpenter's original low-budget slasher hit in 1978. The film is the second in Blumhouse trilogy of films that began with Halloween in 2018 and will end next year with the aptly titled Halloween Ends.
Michael Myers is the killer from every Halloween film except the definitively odd Halloween III: Season of the Witch, which tells a completely different story about the manufacturer of evil Halloween masks. As described by his psychiatrist Dr. Samuel Loomis, Michael is "purely and simply... evil." After murdering his sister when he was a child, Michael escaped his institution in 1978 and went on another killing spree, targeting Jamie Lee Curtis' babysitter Laurie Strode, who he frequently stalked throughout the series. Although Halloween II revealed that Laurie was Michael's sister, that plot point was retconned by 2018's Halloween, which is a direct follow-up to the original film and isn't in continuity with the other sequels.
On the official Instagram for Halloween Kills, they announced a special contest for fans to step into Laurie Strode's shoes. They are asking people to submit videos explaining why they are Halloween's biggest fan, ending with their "best scream." The winner of the contest will get a trip to LA for 2, where they will have the chance to film a scene with Michael Myers himself. Check out the Instagram post below:
Michael Myers will rampage once more in Halloween Kills, continuing his mission of chasing down the three generations of Strode women. Laurie, her daughter Karen (Judy Greer), and her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) will team up with a group of Myers survivors to hunt down the murderous maniac. These survivors include four characters from the original film. Nancy Stephens will be reprising her role from Halloween, Halloween II, and Halloween H20 as nurse Marion Chambers, and Real Housewife Kyle Richards will come back as babysittee Lindsey Wallace, who she played as a child in 1978. Also appearing are Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Longstreet, who replace actors from the original Halloween as Lindsey's friend Tommy Doyle and scared adolescent Lonnie Ross respectively.
Unfortunately, the contest guidelines don't specify what exactly will be done with the footage. It seems unlikely that the footage will actually end up in Halloween Ends, but rather be posted on Instagram or perhaps their official YouTube channel. However, what could be better for hardcore fans than a Halloween Kills-approved official clip of the iconic Michael Myers hunting them down?
