Big Brother: Everything We Know About Julie Chen's Numerous Properties

With her own personal success from Big Brother, host Julie Chen Moonves, along with her husband, has managed to invest in numerous properties over the years. Julie has been the host of the popular reality competition show since it first aired in 2001. She was just 30 years old when she was offered the hosting position. Never did she think she would still be in the same role 21 years later. However, the success of the unusual reality series has continued calls for renewal summer after summer.

Although Julie has been the only host the show has ever had, she was not intended to be the original host of Big Brother. In fact, CBS reached out to famous journalist Meredith Vieira to fill the position prior to offering it to Julie. Meredith ultimately turned down the opportunity, which allowed the position to remain open for Julie to fill. Since Julie was just getting her career started at the time, accepting this role paved the way for many years of success while also opening many doors within her career.

Since Julie has had so much success over the years, she has been able to invest in different things outside of her career, such as real estate. In fact, Julie is the owner of numerous properties. She does not do it alone, however. Julie's husband and former CBS head, Leslie Moonves, invests in the properties with his wife. According to Heavy, the couple currently own four properties across the country together. Their main residence is in Beverly Hills, California. Together, the couple own a mansion there that they originally bought in 2006. At the time, Julie and Leslie paid $14 million for the home, which sits on 1.25 acres of land. It is assumed that the two, along with their 12-year-old son Charlie, still mainly reside in this home.

In addition to their primary home, Julie and Leslie also own three other properties. In 2014, they purchased a $28.8 million beach house in Malibu, California. They bought the home off of the co-founder of Microsoft, Paul Allen. This house features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Also in California, Julie and Leslie own a condo in Pacific Palisades. Then, on the east coast, they have an apartment located in New York City. Julie originally grew up in Queens, New York, which explains why she would want a residence in New York. However, since the Big Brother studio, as well as Julie's other jobs, are located in California, her primary home needs to be close by.

It is unclear how much time Julie and Leslie spend at their other properties. Since they both tend to work quite busy schedules, it is assumed they do not get to visit these homes that often, especially the New York apartment. Luckily, the other two homes are relatively close to Julie's work. Therefore, she can spend a little more time there should she choose to.
