The wardrobe of outfits in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy contains a variety of gear from comics, to movies, to originally designed clothing. Including their standard gear, each member of the Guardians of the Galaxy has at least eight different outfits to choose from. Star-Lord is the only exception here with 13 total outfits, with Marvel's GOTG also featuring his 2014 movie costume. The best part is that all of these outfits can be unlocked in-game, with no DLC or pre-order bonuses required. All outfits in Marvel's GOTG can be unlocked by playing through the game and opening various chests along the way.
[Warning: Major spoilers for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy are below.]
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy keeps its outfits hidden throughout various chapters in crawl spaces and hard-to-reach places. Occasionally, reaching the outfit location requires Star-Lord to call upon a teammate for some assistance. Drax, Gamora, and Groot all have opportunities to use their talents to help Star-Lord solve these problems. While Star-Lord is the only playable character, he can issue squad orders in Marvel's GOTG to make use of every Guardian's abilities.
There is at least one outfit that can be unlocked in nearly every chapter of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Chapters 9, 11, 15, and 16 are the only exceptions because they focus more on moving the plot forward and boss fights with little-to-no exploration elements. Additionally, players who pre-ordered Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy also received an outfit for each character, but these are outfits that can be found in-game as each chapter is explored. Once an outfit is unlocked players will have that outfit permanently, even if they choose to replay a chapter that took place before they found it. All outfits for Drax, Gamora, Rocket, and Groot can be found before chapter 15, but in order to unlock every outfit in Marvel's GOTG for Star-Lord, players are required to complete the game's story.

Every outfit featured in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is purely cosmetic, offering no advantages in regards to combat or traversal in the game. Additionally, Drax's Guardians of the Galaxy 2014 movie outfit and Rocket's Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse outfit are the only two outfits that have a location determined by the choices players will make as Star-Lord throughout Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy's story. Both of those outfits will always be located in the fourth chapter of the game, regardless of if Star-Lord chooses to sell Groot or Rocket to Lady Hellbender. However, this means that if Star-Lord decided to sell Groot the outfits will be in one location, and if he decides to sell Rocket the outfits will be in another. The only other item that this decision affects is Gamora's Assassin's ring, one of the many collectibles found throughout the game.
All found outfits remain unlocked if players decide they want to start a New Game Plus in Marvel's GOTG. New Game Plus is unlocked after beating the game and carries over all outfits, Guardian abilities, crafting components, collectibles, Star-Lord's perks, and the Galatic Compendium. New Game Plus is a great way to revisit the story and make alternate decisions while searching for any remaining outfits to unlock. Marvel's GOTG New Game Plus is also great for just replaying the story comfortably will all abilities and perks, minus Star-Lord's elemental blaster upgrades.
If there is ever a sequel to Marvel's GOTG, then hopefully there will be additional outfits available. One outfit that was surprisingly not included in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was Rocket's Pym Particle suit from Avengers: Endgame. At this time, Square Enix has already confirmed that Marvel's Avengers and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy games don't take place in the same universe. However, that doesn't mean a future crossover isn't possible, or that more movie costumes for Rocket and the other Guardians won't be included in any potential sequel for Marvel's GOTG.
