Cinderella 2021 Cast & Character Guide: Where You Know The Actors From

A new live-action version of the classic fairy tale Cinderella is coming to Amazon Prime, and here’s who plays who in this new adaptation. One of the trends that have gained force in the film industry in recent years is that of live-action versions of animated movies, especially those based on popular fairy tales. Disney has been especially keen on bringing some of its animated classics to the live-action realm, but as these fairy tales aren’t exactly the Mouse House’s property, other studios can do their own versions as well, as Sony and Amazon did with Cinderella.

Directed and written by Kay Cannon and based on Charles Perrault’s tale of the same name, Cinderella follows the title character, a young woman who lives with her abusive stepmother and stepsisters after the death of her father. When the royal family organizes a ball for the prince to find a wife, Cinderella manages to attend with the help of her fairy godmother, but she encounters some obstacles that lead to the prince looking for her all over town after the ball. The new version of Cinderella follows the basic premise of the source material but with a modern touch and a good dose of humor, though with a couple of differences to the story everyone knows thanks to Disney.

In addition to that, Cinderella counts with a cast full of familiar faces, of which some are playing some non-traditional versions of the tale’s characters, and the lead of the story is a very famous singer making her acting debut. Here’s the cast and character guide for Amazon Prime’s Cinderella.

Camila Cabello stars in Cinderella as the title character. After the deaths of her mother and father, Cinderella is stuck living with her stepmother and stepsisters, who are abusive to her and treat her as if she was their slave. Cinderella is visited by a fairy godmother who grants her the chance to attend the royal family’s ball, where she meets the prince, but she also has to make it back home before midnight. Camila Cabello is a singer and songwriter known for her time as a member of the group Fifth Harmony and her solo career, with hits like “Havana” and “Señorita”. Cinderella is Camila Cabello’s acting debut.
