On My Block Season 4 Trailer Teases Emotional Ending For Netflix Series

Netflix drops On My Block season 4 trailer, which teases an emotional ending in the show’s final season. On My Block season 4 was renewed back in February of 2021 with the sole intention of it being the show’s final season. The show follows the highs and lows of a group of friends navigating life in high school and their inner city surroundings of South Central Los Angeles. Each member of the group, Monsé Finnie (Sierra Capri), Cesar Diaz (Diego Tinoco), Ruby Martinez (Jason Genao), and Jamal Turner (Brett Gray), must deal with the situations they experience in different ways, which ultimately leads to clashes in their friendship.

Back in September of this year, Netflix released a first look at On My Block season 4 in images that showed how the friends have changed since the previous season. In the upcoming season, the images show Monsé grown up and embracing her private boarding school experience, while her love interest, Cesar, appears to be back with the Santos, now serving as the gang’s leader. Additionally, the photos show Jamal finding a new identity as a jock on the football team and Ruby campaigning for himself to win a school race. Compared to how the group started in season 1, it seems like an entirely new group for season 4.

Released to their YouTube page, Netflix dropped the On My Block season 4 trailer with the tagline, “One last time around the block.” Netflix also captioned the trailer with, “The final season of On My Block streams October 4,” delighting fans that the new season is just a few weeks away. The trailer highlights tensions when Monsé tells Cesar that she no longer needs his protection and he should protect himself by leaving Freeridge. However, Cesar embraces his perceived destiny of becoming a gang member, telling Monsé that it’s too late for him to leave. It appears the consequences of Cesar’s decision will be a central focus of On My Block season 4. The trailer also touches on Jamal's new jock status, and Ruby's efforts to run for high school political office. The upcoming season appears to be filled with more partying, quirky characters, and creepy gnome statues.

Given the last season premiered over four years ago, fans of the beloved series are eager to get back into the world. On My Block season 4 is set two years after the events of the previous season, and the trailer above offers a glimpse of the issues the group of friends are set to face. Fans can head back to the block when the final ten episodes drop on October 4.
