While 90 Day Fiancé fans frequently side with Yara Zaya, her behavior on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? has been labeled rude and bratty by viewers. Yara has been having a difficult time adjusting to her husband Jovi Dufren traveling for long periods due to his job in underwater mechanics. Though some have been sympathetic as the new mom adjusts to parenthood without her husband frequently around, others believe she should tone down her bratty attitude and be more grateful to her in-laws.
Jovi’s mother Gwen has been named one of the best family members in the franchise and she has been an outstanding mother-in-law to Yara. Gwen cared for Yara and baby Mylah when Yara discovered she was COVID-19 positive. Meanwhile, Gwen and her mother packed up Yara and Jovi’s apartment and helped Yara move on Sunday night’s episode while Jovi was once again delayed for work. Though Yara has been reluctant to accept help from Gwen, viewers have labeled her extremely lucky to have such a supportive mother-in-law who is always ready to lend a hand.
One viewer called Yara out on Reddit in a post titled, “Anybody else think Yara is so much bratty and rude?” The user wrote, “Idk if it has anything to do with culture but I find her to be stark, cold and basically just rude. Its not only a lack of manners, it’s her disrespectful, whiny tone and the way she acts entitled, holding up her cup or telling Gwen she’s poor because of her computer. She often insults Jovi’s mom who is so kind and helpful to her. It’s hard to watch.” Others agreed that Yara acted out of line, especially towards Gwen and the shockingly rude comment Yara made about her old laptop.
“I think she’s so rude and entitled. I do not get why this sub loves her so much. Everyone says that she’s just direct and that’s how Eastern Europeans speak, but that’s not the issue. The stuff she says is mean spirited. And she’s sooo materialistic,” another commenter wrote. Yara was recently dragged for promoting a wealthy lifestyle on Instagram that conflicts with the personality she presents on TLC. “I cannot stand Yara. She is rude, entitled, shallow and vain. Miss Gwen should have snatched her computer back,” another fan agreed. However, some thought Yara’s attitude matched Jovi’s perfectly. “She’s a jerk and Jovi is a fitting partner for her,” another commenter observed. Overall, Gwen was praised for being the best person in the situation.
Though Yara and Jovi appear to have one of the more stable Happily Ever After season 6 marriages, their problems are likely to intensify when Jovi returns home. Yara selected their new apartment in a quieter and more family-oriented neighborhood that is 45 minutes outside of New Orleans. This decision is likely to upset Jovi, who is notorious for his hard-partying preferences. However, the couple appears stable on social media and may be one of the few 90 Day Fiancé success stories.
