Chris Harrison is rumored to be making a return on a new show set to rival The Bachelor. The former host of the hit ABC show was let go, and fans haven’t forgiven the network as they have threatened to boycott the new season.
Viewers were unhappy, to say the least, when news broke that Harrison was leaving the franchise. Bachelor Nation learned that the ABC network paid Harrison $10 million to step down after he announced he had no intention of leaving the show. Harrison had been the face of the show for the last 20 years, and many fans are struggling to see a way around the series without him. But revenge is a dish best served cold, and it looks like Harrison may have a sneaky move up his sleeve.
The 49-year-old recently spoke out to OK! Magazine about the possibility of coming back to the small screen. An insider close to Harrison revealed that the famed host was going to take a year off “as his non-compete expires,” but will be back on another channel. Evidently, Harrison is already boasting that he is going to show ABC how needed he was.
The source also noted, "He’s telling people with a straight face that he’s the best at the job by a million miles." It makes sense that the former host is not happy about having to walk away from his former gig and is looking to make his revenge bitter-sweet, thanks to his “post-Bachelor success.” The source also revealed that Harrison felt blindsided by the decision to replace him and felt he had the clout to sail through the turmoil.
The Bachelor fans will remember he had a horrible interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. During their chat, Harrison showed his racial insensitivity. While the decision to cut ties may not sit well with most fans, it was the right choice, as the network didn’t want those opinions to represent its brand. Fans are happy with the news that their beloved host may be showing up on another reality TV show in the not too distant future. Many believe it may be a show very similar to what he just left behind. It would be a real kick in the knees to the large network, and most likely, it would take a ratings nose dive as fans stay loyal to Harrison.
