While Yuffie and Sonon are exploring their way through the Shinra Building, they will come across a block-breaking mini-game. Players will want to aim for 20,000 points to get the biggest prize available. This guide will show players how they can maximize their scores.

This mini-game will take place shortly after leaving Sector 7 and exploring a bit of the Shinra Building. There will be a terminal that players can access that will bring them directly to the mini-game. Players will need to complete this challenge alone and there are a handful of things players can do to save their time. This guide will provide helpful tips when playing the Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade Shinra Box challenge.

Here are some helpful tips and tricks for scoring high in the Shinra Box Buster mini-game.

  • Players should use the Steel Reaper weapon. This can be found in chapter 1 and does the most physical damage.
  • Orange Boxes break faster when using melee attacks.
  • Purple Boxes break faster when using magic attacks.
  • Aim for the time boxes the moment the player encounters them. These will extend the time remaining. Throw the Shuriken to get through it fast.
  • The Large Box can be broken if the player throws the Shuriken and while it's on its way, players use the Windstorm ability. Bringing up the ATB menu and using Windstorm will cause the Shuriken to instantly break the box, saving tons of time.
  • Replay through the level until the player understands where every box is placed.

Players will need to complete this challenge to unlock the Materia Maven trophy. It's one of those challenges that might take a few attempts but players will see themselves improve with every attempt. This is completely optional but for those looking to extend their time in Midgar, this is the way to go. It may take years for Part 2 to ever see the light of day so doing anything to continue playing is always appreciated.
