Apex Legends is set to release Season 10: Emergence next week, bringing a new character named Seer with some interesting new abilities. The newest season will see developer Respawn add a new light machine gun called the Rampage, significant map changes to World's Edge and Ranked Arenas to the game. Along with these new features comes Seer, the newest Legend for players to use in battle.
Typically, Respawn adds a new Legend to Apex Legends at the start of every new season to provide variety in gameplay. Outside of the original eight Legends that came with the game at launch, Respawn has added nine more into the game to bring the total to 17. Now Seer will be joining the ranks, hoping to make an impact on the Battle Royale and Arenas stage like other Apex Legends characters.
Born on the night a meteor struck his world's moon, Obi Edolasim was considered a cursed child by his community and was an outcast to all but his parents. He found comfort and theatricality in the Apex Legends Arena and became Seer, a hero to the outcasts of society. Seer is described as an "Ambush Artist," a visionary who can see things others can't, and he uses that to his advantage when competing in the Apex Games.
Respawn gave an in-depth look at Seer's abilities on Twitter after a brief reveal at EA Play Live, highlighting what the new Apex Legend will bring to the battlefield. Seer's Passive ability is known as Heart Seeker, which allows him to see and hear the heartbeats of his enemies when players are aiming down the sights of their weapon. The stipulation is that enemies have to be within a 75 meter radius to be seen, which provides some balance to the character that won't allow him to detect heartbeats from excessively long ranges.
Seer's Tactical ability is known as Focus of Attention, which sees the Apex Legends character release a swarm of microdrones from the chamber on his heart. These microdrones will release a delayed EMP blast that stuns and reveals enemies to an attacking team. Similar to Crypto's drone, the blast will be able to reach through walls and structures, allowing Seer to use his Tactical in different combat situations to locate and momentarily disrupt enemies.
Seer's Ultimate ability is named Exhibit, which is deployed using his heart chamber once again to throw into battle. The chamber releases a net made out of microdrones across a specific area, which reveals where enemies within the net are located, which is similar to Bloodhound's abilities. The effects of the Ultimate only last until the enemy removes themselves from the sphere of microdrones, giving teams the chance to escape. Seer could be an extremely helpful asset to the team, and players can look forward to trying him out when the new season of Apex Legends releases.
