Tyler Cameron recently opened up about his choice to distance himself from the Bachelor franchise. Cameron was the runner-up on Hannah Brown's incredibly popular 15th season of The Bachelorette. He has yet to appear in the franchise since, albeit a brief moment on the last season of The Bachelor, where he provided guidance for his friend and Bachelor, Matt James.
Tyler was the fan favorite coming off of The Bachelorette, with calls all over social media for him to be the next Bachelor. Ultimately, the title went to Peter Weber, but Cameron has mentioned that there were four separate conversations with producers regarding the role. Also, stemming off of the season was a call for Brown and Cameron to give their relationship another go. After he was pictured leaving her hotel room, rumors went wild, but being pictured with Gigi Hadid shortly after put both 'Tannah' and Bachelor possibility rumors to bed.
In a recent interview with Bustle, Tyler got personal about his relationships and feelings toward the Bachelor franchise. After moving back home to Jupiter, Florida, following his mother's passing, his priorities shifted. He realized that he would rather surround himself with "his people." He is quoted saying, "I don't want to be a part of it" when asked about the franchise as a whole. Regarding the Bachelor proposals, he didn't think that taking the role would lead him to where he ultimately wanted to be in life.

However, his time on the small screen didn't end with the Bachelorette. Last year, he starred in his own TV show on the short-lived streaming service Quibi. The show, titled Barkitecture, had Tyler working with an interior designer to build luxury dog houses. Additionally, Tyler has a new book titled You Deserve Better out now, which he describes as half-memoir and half-dating guide.
Tyler's perseverance to accomplish his dreams is admirable, especially after undergoing the deeply traumatic experience of losing a loved one. Deciding to walk away from the franchise rather than taking advantage of the fame is commendable. It's easy to see how he still manages to make Bachelor Nation swoon.
