Fun and furry Super Animal Royale has announced its release across more platforms, including PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The news comes alongside the launch of the game's first season of content. Super Animal Royale is a top-down 2D battle royale featuring an adorable array of animals who must battle to the death in matches of 64 players. The title has been a success in Early Access, and the full launch of Super Animal Royale is now here.
Super Animal Royale has a heavy focus on fast-paced, action-packed gameplay along with a wide selection of customization options, and was previously only available through Xbox and Steam Early Access. The game features over 300 breeds of genetically modified animals with more than 600 cosmetics for players to tailor their perfect fighter. Jumping off the back of a Giant Eagle pits player against player, with weapons including grenades and shotguns, alongside travel inside hamster balls and atop emus. Thanks to its unique style and top-down gameplay, the title offers a different spin on typical battle royales like Fortnite.
Revealed during the Gamescom 2021 Future Games Show livestream and later shared by Modus Games, Super Animal Royale has now officially left Early Access and is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. A Stadia launch is also coming later this year. Alongside its launch on more platforms, Super Animal Royale's season one has officially begun. The new season introduces the new breed of Super Frogs, as well as Mini Animal pets to follow players on their mission. The map has been expanded to include the new Mini Ranch, a petting zoo for the mini animals. The Super Animal World Animal Pass has also been added to the game, allowing players to earn extra rewards and cosmetics.

The addition of Super Animal Royale's new Mini Animal pets is sure to be a hit amongst players. The new tiny animals will be available for purchase at the S.A.W Shop, and can also be unlocked via the game's new Battle Pass equivalent, the Animal Pass. Super Animal Royale has also introduced a new archive system, allowing players to purchase and work through prior passes without the pressure of an expiry date. This relaxed attitude to the typical Battle Pass system should be a breath of fresh air for many, and will mean players late to the party can still catch up on what they've missed. The archive currently has two passes from the Early Access version of the game.
The first season of Super Animal Royale is just the beginning for the game, with the development team already working on its next update. With more players than ever now able to access the unique take on the battle royale genre, it's expected that the title's player count should see a significant rise, as all versions of the game support crossplay matchmaking and cross-save. Cross-platform parties are not yet supported, but the feature is in development and should arrive soon.
