Michael C. Hall confirms Comic-Con @ Home panel for Dexter revival. Launching on Showtime in 2006, Dexter narrated the thrilling tale of Hall's titular forensic technician as he moonlighted as a serial killer. Throughout its run, Hall earned raves for his turn as the protagonist, and the show too garnered a lot of praise and accolades for its home network, at the same time, also drawing record viewership. Up till season 4, there was immense passion for the series among fans. But after that, the show largely spiralled down in terms of quality. The Dexter finale is considered one of the most disappointing in TV. The final episode saw Dexter faking his death, and leave for the woods to spend the rest of his life as a lumberjack.
Ever since the show ended, Dexter has received flack from fans for its disappointing conclusion. Many even called for the series to be rebooted so that they can get a proper and satisfying ending for the beloved show. Fortunately, those calls did no go unanswered as last October Showtime announced that Dexter would return for a 10-episode limited series, with Hall reprising his role. Spearheaded by the original creator Clyde Philips, who left the show after season 4, the new iteration takes place 10 years after the events of the series finale, and it's set in the fictional town of Iron Lake in New York. Despite being announced several months back, the show has remained decidedly coy about its story and plotline, although it now looks like fans will learn a bit more about the revival later this month.

Star Michael C. Hall posted a video to Dexter's official Twitter handle, announcing that the series has set an exclusive panel at this year's San Diego Comic-Con @ Home. The panel will run on Sunday, July 25, at 1 pm PT, and it will feature appearances from Philips, EP Scott Reynolds, EP Marcos Siega, and cast member Julia Jones, besides Hall. Hosting the panel is Kristin Dos Santos, and some additional reports also suggest that a never-seen-before sneak-peek at the revival would also be screened during the event.

Until recently, the cast of the Dexter revival boasted a talented bunch of newcomers. This included Jamie Chung's Molly, an L.A. true-crime reporter and Clancy Brown's villain Kurt Caldwell. But last month, it was announced that a familiar face would also turn up for the show, in the form of John Lithgow's Arthur Mitchell aka the Trinity Killer. Besides Lithgow, however, no other returning faces have been confirmed for the show, although this is something that might change during the revival upcoming Comic-Con @ Home panel.
Considering that the Dexter revival is eyeing a fall 2021 date for its premiere, it makes sense for fans to tune into the show's panel later this month with a lot of hopes. Of course, the experience won't be as wholesome as it is when interacting with the stars in real-time, but at least fans will get to learn some meaty details about the show they have been so anxiously anticipating. At this point, the revival can be expected to unveil its release date along with the Dexter season 9 trailer during the panel. Although to know for sure what's in store for them, viewers would have to wait until the said date.
