Sister Wives: Why Christine Brown Is Fans' Favorite Wife (& Why She's Not)

Christine Brown is a reality personality from Sister Wives, and here are all of the reasons why Christine has been embraced as a favorite by some fans and disliked by others. Christine is Kody Brown's third wife and the Sister Wives star that gets lost in the shuffle the most. From her emotional vulnerability to her inability to stand up for herself, here's why some viewers love Christine and others don't support the sister wife.

Christine is a 49-year-old stay-at-home mom. She got married to Kody 27 years ago on March 25, 1994. Together, Christine and Kody had six children: Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, and Truely. Christine is Kody's third wife after Meri and Janelle. While the other sister wives are known for getting rowdy, Christine is the most mild-tempered of the crew. Instead of lashing out, Christine often reserves her feelings and deals with her issues without involved Kody or his other wives. While some fans appreciate Christine's polite approach to conflict, others find it avoidant and unproductive.

The main reason why Christine is a fan favorite is because of her kind disposition and emotional awareness. Christine is the most sensitive of Kody's wives and many fans are sympathetic to Christine's vulnerability. Many viewers perceive Christine's ability to endure her complex emotions as selflessness. For example, during one especially low point in her marriage with Kody, Christine did not want to move with the family from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Flagstaff, Arizona. Christine's family lived in Utah and she did not want to move further away from her home. Although this was a big conflict for Christine, she bit her tongue for the good of her family.

Although Christine wanted to stop Kody from displacing her and her kids, she knew it would cause an issue that the entire group of parents would have to deal with. Despite admitting that she's "torn all the time" on Sister Wives, Christine selflessly prioritizes the good of the group. Another pro for Christine is that she got the COVID-19 vaccine. Most members of the Sister Wives fanbase did not expect Christine or the show's other stars to listen to doctors and get the COVID vaccine. When Christine shared a photo on Instagram celebrating her vaccination on Cinco de Mayo, the reality star pleasantly surprised viewers and earned a ton of new fans.

While some fans find Christine admirable for swallowing her feelings, others dislike her for it. As audiences have observed over a decade of Sister Wives, altercations between Kody and his wives can get very messy and uncomfortable. Although Kody, Meri, Janelle, and Robyn have all acted inappropriately during their squabbles, direct communication is a valuable way to resolve conflict. When sharing why she didn't say anything to Kody about moving to Flagstaff, Christine explained that she didn't "want to rock the boat" or damage her relationship. Christine rarely talks openly about her love life, and while this might help keep her "spiritual union" with Kody afloat, it does no favors for Christine, her fellow sister wives, and fans of the show. Despite causing the least drama, it's hard for viewers to back a reality star that won't stand up for what they believe in out of fear.

Christine is a refreshing and necessary piece of the Brown family puzzle. While some love Christine for her selflessness, others can't stand her fear of conflict. Regardless of whether or not Christine is the fan-favorite star of Sister Wives, she is hands-down the least likely to get COVID.
