ACNH: Where Daisy Mae Is On Mondays | Screen Rant

Since Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released in 2019, players have become familiar with the adorable boar Daisy Mae, but her life off the island still remains a mystery. Daisy Mae has taken over the role of her grandmother Joan by running the turnip trading business that only sells its merchandise on Sunday mornings. However, once she is done selling her prized vegetables, she seems to vanish on Monday with no story as to where she goes.

Daisy Mae could possibly share the work mentality of her fellow Animal Crossing NPC Sable from the Able Sisters because of how busy the turnip industry is in the series. Turnips are a big deal to villagers, as they are the sole commodity sold in the Stalk Market: the constantly fluctuating trading space in which turnip prices oscillate between extremely high and low prices. Given the amount of value invested into turnips, Daisy Mae must be very busy at work, producing high quantities of turnips every week for potential buyers.

However, Daisy Mae may not actually be a worker bee. While her output of turnips is immense, their value as vegetables to be stored and consumed is very low. This is perhaps why her turnips always go bad within a week after purchasing them: Their actual quality does not matter - only their determined value in the Animal Crossing Stalk Market. And because the quality of turnips is not important, Daisy Mae may have the free time to do other things when not selling her vegetables due to a lower workload.

The New Horizons' Happy Home Paradise DLC and version 2.0 update might have the answers behind what Daisy Mae does once she leaves players' islands. Considering that she brings Joan with her to both her vacation home and the Roost Café, Daisy Mae must be enjoying her grandmother's retirement with her. But to keep their bond as strong as it is, she must also be putting work into their turnip farm that's location may be discernible because of Daisy Mae's gifts to buyers.

While off the island, Daisy Mae has to be spending most of her time tending to her and her grandmother's turnip farm. Even if their quality does not matter, the quantity of them needed and the value invested in turnips by traders in the Stalk Market is too high for her job to not be demanding to some degree. Despite the popularity of her turnips, the location of the farm where Daisy Mae grows them has never been revealed in New Horizons.

A clue to the location could lie in the gifts she gives players who buy her products. On the Monday following the purchasing of turnips, Daisy Mae sends players a thank you letter accompanied by bamboo stalks as a present. This indicates that Daisy Mae's farm could be on an island similar to the bamboo mystery islands that players can visit in New Horizons. After all, the gift would make much more sense if she lived on one of these islands, as she must have to clear the fast-growing bamboo in order to make room for her turnip farm.

When Daisy Mae is not working on the turnip farm, she spends time having fun with her grandmother Joan. Before Daisy Mae, Joan sold Turnips in every Animal Crossing game. Her career apparently lasted over 60 years, so it makes sense that in New Horizons she has handed over the family business to Daisy Mae and has taken a liking to travel.

New Horizons' Happy Home Paradise DLC shows that Joan invites Daisy Mae on her adventures. When using Daisy Mae's amiibo card in Happy Home Paradise, players will find that she shares her vacation home with Joan. So happy is she to spend time with her grandmother that she gifts players her photo to offer thanks for designing her vacation home.

After the version 2.0 update brought the Roost to New Horizons, the Twitter user @AgentVee also found that Daisy Mae's amiibo card will bring Joan along with her when used at the Roost. While there, Daisy Mae will enjoy a Roost sablé cookie and Joan a cup of coffee while neither of them is wearing baskets of radishes on top of their heads. This goes to show that even on Daisy Mae's days off from Joan's business, she still spends time with her to have fun.

When Daisy Mae is not spending time with Joan, she hosts events that allow her to express her passion for farming. Though Daisy Mae only just joined the series in New Horizons, she has found her way into at least one other Animal Crossing installment. And in this other game, she hosts an adorable event purely for her own enjoyment.

In the spin-off title Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, Daisy Mae organized the "Daisy Mae's Pick'n Patch" event in April and May 2020. In this event, Daisy Mae introduces players to new farm mechanics such as the rare farmer seeds. Though she only got to do this last year, Daisy Mae's involvement in the happenings of the phone app shows that she is an active community member in the world of Animal Crossing who is happy to share her knowledge of farming.

Daisy Mae is among the hardest working villagers in New Horizons, so it is nice to see she has a life outside of her work as a turnip farmer. Between her close bond with her grandmother Joan and the events she hosts across the world of Animal Crossing, she appears to have many hobbies that she enjoys. And though Daisy Mae is hard to find in Animal Crossing both on and off the island, players will be pleased to know she is always doing something positive in New Horizons.
