Wonder Woman Vs. Sailor Moon: Who Wins in a Fight? | Screen Rant

When it comes to genre-defining icons in comics, there are few more impressive than Diana Prince’s Wonder Woman and Usagi Tsukino’s Sailor Moon. While Sailor Moon has been one of the most popular manga since its debut in 1991, Wonder Woman has been vanquishing villains and selling comics since the 1940s. Both have also achieved crossover stardom by finding success in cartoons, movies, television, toys, and games. While they are much more likely to be friends and allies, it's only natural to ask, if the two were ever to meet in a fight, who would win?

In terms of experience, both are evenly matched. Wonder Woman was trained from childhood to be a warrior and has a long history of actual engagement in battle. From fighting tanks and soldiers during World War II to taking on the God of War himself, Wonder Woman has seen it all and come out the victor more times than not. She’s not going to be surprised by what Sailor Moon can throw at her. If she is surprised, it won’t take long for her to recover. She certainly wouldn't be afraid. On the other hand, despite her childlike propensities, which are in direct contrast to Wonder Woman’s adult seriousness, Sailor Moon has been involved in countless battles against some of the universe's most powerful beings, such as Sailor Galaxia. While she might have been afraid of Wonder Woman after first discovering her abilities, she clearly would not during the later stages of the series, where she is more comfortable with her powers and fighting opponents.

Naturally, a fight between the two will involve some level of combat. Here, Wonder Woman is superior. Widely considered one of the best melee fighters in comics, Wonder Woman’s skills and powers are all focused on physically incapacitating her opponents, quickly and comprehensively. Any doubt of her combat abilities should be dismissed by the fact that she has beaten the best, including Superman. Conversely, Sailor Moon is not exactly known for her physical prowess. A back-street brawler, she is not. Nevertheless, she does have a number of effective physical attacks, such as the “Sailor Moon Kick.” But it is doubtful Wonder Woman would have a problem overcoming a physical attack from Sailor Moon.

Sailor Moon would hold the advantage in magical power skills. Magic is the central characteristic of Sailor Moon’s abilities and the core of her most powerful attacks. The magic Sailor Moon uses is generated by a number of items or devices she possesses. For instance, the Eternal Tiare and Holy Moon Chalice give Sailor Moon enough magical power to affect the existence of the universe. Magic is the one ability where Wonder Woman might find herself in trouble. Indeed, outside of her magic lasso, Wonder Woman was not known to have magic capabilities. But in her fight against the Upside-Down Man, she discovered she held some dormant magic abilities. Even so, Wonder Woman is still exploring the depths of her talents. Presently, she has not yet made magic a key aspect of her power.

All things considered, who wins the fight will be determined by who makes the most of their strengths. If Wonder Woman is able to physically incapacitate Sailor Moon quickly, then she wins. Wonder Woman has the skills and experience to accomplish this eventually. However, the longer she fails to do this, the more time Sailor Moon will have to conjure up a magic attack. While Wonder Woman might have the ability to resist some of those attacks, ultimately Sailor Moon will find a magic attack to make Wonder Woman bend a knee.
