New Blood Episode 6 Trailer: Dexter’s New Identity Questioned by Angela

The promo for the upcoming episode of Dexter: New Blood shows Dexter being questioned by his girlfriend and Chief of Police, Angela Bishop, over who he really is. The Dexter revival has just aired episode 5, titled "Runaway," in which Dexter confronts Harrison over the events of the previous episode after he suspects that his son might have stabbed a student at his school. Dexter: New Blood episode 5 is then followed by Harrison attending a party and ending up in the hospital after overdosing on fentanyl. The latest trailer for this episode, which teased Dexter's next kill, revealed that his victim is a man who has been making pills with the opioid.

The latest New Blood episode also brought back a surprising familiar face from the original series, and Dexter's old days at the Miami Metro Police Department, in Angel Batista. The character was a speaker at a convention that Angela happened to drop into, along with Molly Park, a true crime podcaster who offers to assist Bishop in the case of the missing girls. But when Angela talks to the homicide lietutenant, she discovers that the man she knew as Jim Lindsay is not who he says he is. This is confirmed by her daughter, Audrey, when she talks about Harrison's intoxicated reveal about Dexter at the party in Dexter: New Blood episode 5.

Now, Showtime has released a trailer for Dexter: New Blood episode 6, which shows Dexter having to answer to a suspicious Angela about his true identity. The video also shows Dexter keeping his eye on Park, as well a scene in which Dexter attends a therapy session with his son. Recently, Dexter: New Blood also confirmed the season's antagonist, Kurt Caldwell, was the killer of the missing girls; something that didn't go so smoothly with his latest victim. There are still many unanswered questions in regards to Caldwell's character, given that he lied about his son Matt being alive, despite knowing he was killed. While Caldwell doesn't yet know that Dexter was his son's murderer, recent episodes showed him re-aquainting himself with Harrison as the latter was about to leave town. He also offered Dexter's son a job, as he did with his last victim.

It will be interesting to see how Caldwell and Harrison's relationship unfolds in new Dexter: New Blood episodes, as well as how Dexter will respond to his identity seemingly being discovered by Angela. The sequel series has continuously referenced the Dexter season 4 finale, and the titular character being concerned that Harrison may potentially follow in his vigilante footsteps. It is already confirmed that John Lithgow, who portrayed the season 4 Trinity Killer, will make a cameo appearance sometime later in the season. As the season progresses, it is clear that Dexter is slowly falling victim to his primitive killing urges, and with the new trailer of Dexter: New Blood showing his real name being discovered, it may be only a matter of time before Angela or somebody else realizes the dark secrets of his past.
