Genshin Impact 2.0's Lost Riches Event & Rewards Explained

Genshin Impact’s Lost Riches event is returning once again this year on August 6, 2021. The last event took place back in January, and this latest iteration once again lasts for 10 days in total. Each day, two new sets of clues are released for the Traveler to seek out and find. In total, there were 14 treasures to discover that would provide iron coins for players to gather and spend at the event shop - and the Version 2.0 event will presumably function in the same way.

Last time, Lost Riches was accessible by locating Ulman, a man who would then send players out around areas in Mondstadt and Liyue to search for buried treasure. Players obtain a Treasure Seeking Seelie upon finding Ulman that will help them find and dig up treasure. Along with just the normal buried treasures, there are also Special Treasures that get released on specific days as bonuses for Travelers to find.

These Special Treasures provide players with Primogems, Mora, Enhancement Ore, and Hero’s Wit tickets – a great reward when upgrade supplies in Genshin Impact are running low. Once all 14 treasures have been discovered, players will be able to purchase items from the event shop using the Iron Coins they’ve found. Players can also purchase a Mini-Seelie, a partner that will follow the Traveler around and reveal nearby treasure around the world of Teyvat. However, players can only purchase one of the three differently colored Seelie, so they’ll have to choose its color wisely.

For Genshin Impact’s 2.0 upcoming Lost Riches event, instead of taking place in Mondstadt or Liyue, it’ll take place in Inazuma. Players will be able to scour the new island nation in search of treasure that will certainly help them level up some of the new characters from the 2.0 Banners. While there hasn’t been much information about the new changes to the event just yet, players can assume rewards will work the same as when Lost Riches first dropped in Genshin Impact. It looks as if the same rewards will be available to collect, but miHoYo could surprise players with some bonus rewards, too.

One change coming to the 2.0 Lost Riches event is the addition of another colored Mini-Seelie, a dark blue type. People who played the last event will be able to obtain a second Mini-Seelie to add to their collection. If miHoYo wanted to reward those who have completed both Lost Riches events, having two could expand their search radius, seeing as the Mini-Seelie’s need to be relatively close for discovering treasures - although that may just be wishful thinking.

Genshin Impact’s Lost Riches event in Version 2.0 is a great way for players to obtain Primogems and Hero’s Wit. Leveling up characters, especially at the high levels, can be quite the grind, and Primogems are hard to come by. With a multitude of upcoming Genshin Impact characters, it’ll help those saving up for new Wishes. For those looking to compete in the latest treasure hunt, they’ll have to complete the quest “Ritou Escape Plan,” which is pretty early on in the Inazuma quest line.
